where we learned to celebrate [CoA 24-26]

week of June 12-18
And this isn’t quite everything. There are a few samples that need to find good homes because they aren’t best suited to my hair type.
In any case, it would seem I’m acquainted with a few of Redken’s lines. We go back quite a ways. And while I’ve currently abandoned Redken’s haircare since however it interacts with the water here lands me with some really horrible results*, I do like me some Redken. The Nature’s Rescue haircare does okay if it’s used intermittently. But the styling products still work like a dream!
Anyway, crazy Redken stash (though the mirror might be making it look a little crazier than it is) and affection aside, I had a hair appointment this week. My salon of choice is a Redken salon, which means, not only are they responsible for supplying the plethora above, but various Redken products get used on my hair while I’m there.
While Ashley was shampooing me, I noticed it smelled awesome, and also that it wasn’t a fragrance I was familiar with. She told me she was using Blonde Glam shampoo. (Totally smelled awesome! Also one that Bithia recommended back when I saw Bithia, but the salon hardly ever had it in stock.) When she got to the conditioner I asked, "Color Extend?" Surprised and amused, she affirmed. And so began what turned out to be an impromptu game of identifying the products being used based on scent. There are few funner ways to pass the time while getting your hair done than simultaneously impressing and amusing your stylist with a very weird skill.
Also, I always wind up with the best stylists!

*I’m using Healthy Sexy Hair Reinvent Color Extend shampoo and Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Milk conditioner by Sexy Hair, if you were wondering.
week of June 19-25
Do you know what came out on June 21st ? DO YOU!?! Okay, you are probably less surprised than I am by my drifting back into Bon Iver love. I really thought I was well enough over it. Which I suppose still holds true, as I’m no longer constantly drifting back to Bon Iver albums during bouts of extended music listening. I wasn’t planning on picking up the new album the week it came out. Or possibly even during the summer. Though I did make sure to DVR the late night shows when Bon Iver was performing.
So, I saw their performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon the night the album released. And, you guys, IT WAS SO AMAZINGLY, AWESOMELY GOOD! It was this song, this performance, that made me have to have the album. And this is the song I keep going back to and/or putting on repeat when listening to the album. It’s gorgeous recorded, but this performance is so golden!
week of June 26 – July 2
IT IS FINALLY FINISHED! You guys, I am so very excited about this! IT IS DONE! Okay, after ironing on the shamrock applique (as requested by recipient) it could do with a wash & dry or a misting & dry, since the iron flattened out some of the stitches. But it’s going to be given like it is because I had things to do. But I am still so happy it is done and it isn’t a head-swallowing size anymore!
Since I knitted from the previous rendition, rather than ripping it all out and winding the yarn, we can have a visual display of the difference in size (aside from the ‘on-Syd’s-head’ photo comparison we already have – but, hey, variety is the spice of life):
And that was why it was all, "LET ME ENGULF YOUR HEAD IN CHOCOLATE-COLORED YARN! FEEL THE CHOCOLATE! FEEL IT!"
And with that, I am, *gasp*, actually current! That, too, is awesome!
[what the "CoA" bit is about]

Woah. And I thought I was bad for collecting hair products, heh. Can’t say I’ve ever tried Redken though.

Redken is loooooove ♥ “Butter Treat” saved my hair from the brink of brittle death when I blonded the hell out of myself a few years ago, and I still use the blue bottles of shampoo/conditioner for fixing sad hair whenever I dye now.AAAAAAAH BON IVER! I knew you’d be pumped, too! “Perth” is my favorite & stops me in my tracks.
