not-so-current currents of april

current book
Yeah, another month without a lot of book readin’. The same two are still on-going in fits and sputters.

current shame-inducing guilty pleasure
Ugh. Mark Burnett sucked me in with another music reality show. Thanks a lot, Mark Burnett. Usually reality shows have absolutely no allure! But I was in for both seasons of Rock Star and now I’m watching The Voice. I’m not inclined to brag about this.

current favorite colours
Shall we go with nail colors again? The month started out with yellow tips and green toes, moved to very pale pink tips and green toes, then it was yellow tips and fuchsia toes and closed out the month with green tips and fuchsia toes. (So, I usually change my pedi polish once for every two mani changes.) That was fun, right? 😉

current favorite drink
Mostly water. Also tried out Pacifica and Negra Modelo beers and liked both.

And I’ve been having fun with numerous color variations (for the crease/smoky color) on the eyeshadow look in this video from Kandee Johnson. (Though I’ve been going a lot thinner with the eyeliner. It’s a wedding/prom makeup video, so it starts with foundation and goes to lipstick. Which is a lot to watch if you’re just in it for the eyeshadow.)

current outfit
Well, it is May 1st, but I’m rocking a black long-sleeve drapey neckline shirt with dark wash skinny jeans and black cross-strap wedges. Which is way cuter/more dressy than what I had on for yesterday, the last day of April: 3/4 sleeve plumy magenta tee with black capris and these awesome thongs/flip-flops! Whether or not they actually encourage toning, they’re super comfy and occasionally feeling like I’m standing on a baby wobble board is totally fun and kinda rad!

current fragrance
Most of April I was bouncing between Bath & Body Works’ Country Chic and their Lemon Vanilla. There was some Be Delicious and Be Delicious Fresh Blossom, too (both from DKNY – I don’t exclusively wear B&BW scents, though it does seem like it lately). With a touch of Twilight Woods for good measure.

current triumph
I finished knitting a sort of beaded cuff/bracelet thing made of embroidery floss that had been partially completed and "on the needles" for a couple of years. Yeah. I stashed the project and just didn’t pick it up for awhile. But it’s done now! Well, the knitting part. I still need to block it, weave in the ends, add buttons and button holes and THEN it will be done. But the knitting is done! WOO!
