week of July 17-23

It seems I didn’t get a very good picture of this before I removed it ("not very good" being, "check out this crappy cell phone picture"). But I think it was the most fun I’ve had with my toes in awhile. I had been trying to decide what bright color to paint my toesies and finally decided five was better than one. I’m sure to repeat this at some point in the future. It made me smile nearly every time I caught sight of it.

week of July 24-30
It hadn’t been very long since Ulta had its grand opening. My mom and I had gone in to look for a few things. She hung out with me, even through a good deal of meandering and we were ready to leave. As we were headed out the door, a young woman who looked to be in her late teens, possibly early twenties, had come in with her boyfriend (or, well, I’m assuming it was her boyfriend). She was dressed super casually, and I’m going so far as to assume it was her first time in the store. Mostly because of what she did next. She stopped in front of the array of displays that greet one first entering the store, raised her hands up to her face, and gasped in wide-eyed wonder. It was so very adorable. And it also perfectly captured the experience of walking into an Ulta store for the very first time.

week of July 31 – August 6
One morning I awoke from a dream where I was shopping in the beloved Wegmans. That’s all that was happening, really. I was just doing some grocery shopping at my favoritest grocery store ever. When I woke up and realized what had been happening, I sincerely wished I could go back to sleep and return to the dream. If Wichita can’t have a Wegmans, at least I can still shop there. Sort of. It was close enough.
