Cloud Atlas – David Mitchell
The same ones as last month. I, um, haven’t been reading much, I’ve now realized.
current shame-inducing guilty pleasure
Sleuth TV has a commercial for Walker: Texas Ranger, that uses a clip of Chuck Norris fighting a bear. I… well, I kind of love it.

current favorite food
clementines!
current favorite drink(s)
I haven’t been drinking much, due to the caffeine, but jasmine green tea. Also: Soul Full Cup House Blend coffee (from the NY). But mostly water.

current music
What I like to call the Men with Beards & Guitars playlist, as requested by the ever splendid Miss Ashley! (There are two songs from each, because, apparently, I couldn’t bring myself to stop at one.)
First up, Ray Lamontagne (he was my first steady break in the Bon Iver looping – and one of the hardest to pare down to just two suggestions).
1. Jolene (this is my favorite performance)
2. Shelter (video from a live performance for a special – first song is Shelter, second is Hold You In My Arms)
Next, Iron & Wine (aka Sam Beam)
1. Trapeze Swinger
2. He Lays in the Reigns (with Calexico)
Onto City & Colour (aka Dallas Green)
1. Sensible Heart
2. Against the Grain
Bonus, because I love that, in this live electric performance, there’s a bit of Sam Sparro’s Black & Gold covered, and I was going to be all, "You guys have to see this! It is AWESOME!" at some point, anyway:
Sometimes (I Wish)
Finally, David Crowder * Band
1. All Around Me (cover of a Flyleaf song)
2. SMS (Shine) (lite brites!)
And while you may not be desirous of me encouraging this weird phase, I know mine caught a second wind when I finally got into Justin Vernon’s two solo albums. So, extra bonus:
1. Drinking This Rain (I’m On Fire)
2. Hazelton
current anticipation
SPRING! (I’m getting ready early)
current triumph
Finally making Butter Chicken after carrying it over on the "meals for which the stuff is already (mostly) in the house" list a couple of times now. Also, it was tasty.
current indulgence
Not making my bed every day. I’m certain it’s a habit (the daily bed making) I want to get back to, though.
current blessings
I just recently realized that the purse that was on my wish list in December, is now in my possession.
Doing full-blown grocery shopping on a Saturday (something usually avoided due to the scads of people out and packing the stores then), only to have it go fairly smoothly and getting to see a whole lot of adorable and happy kids out with their parents. It was a most delightful combination.

I plan to go home and let my ears snack on them later; I’ve actually heard of all the guys you mentioned (especially our boy Ray; sososososo pretty) and can’t wait to discover more!

OK, so, in order of my adoration:- I’ve actually heard both of those Iron & Wine songs before! (Have you explored them much? My favorites by them are “Such Great Heights” & “Love and Some Verses.”- Oh, City and Colour. Oh, be still my heart, and gird your loins, my iTunes. I foresee many, many new downloads of their wonder.- David Crowder > Flyleaf. Also? I need a Lite Brite. Thanks again for the pretty noises ♥

How do you like Cloud Atlas so far? I read it like a few years ago and could never really evaluate it well in my head. Also, I actually liked Mitchell’s earlier books prior to Cloud Atlas (which I read after Cloud Atlas). I like Ghostwritten a lot more. Also Number9Dream is way more hectic in structure.

Mmmm. I’ve been seeing a lot of your country’s clementines in our stores lately. They are quite tasty. Keep it up!
