because I’ll not have a kitten’s blood on my hands

There’s that distinct coffee aroma that hits you as the doors open; it comes so fast, it’s almost as if it hits you before the doors open. It would seem more fitting to follow this with something about "the hallowed halls of literature," but it’s a Barnes & Nobel/Starbucks combo, so it’s not as bombastic as all that. There’s no air of distinction, just books and coffee. It’s primarily mediocre fare, but there are gems to be found in both pages and paper cups.

I entered with the intention of partaking of both. But it turned into a good deal of meandering, reminding myself that I have over 30 books I still need to read or finish and the stark reality that I’m really not into fiction right now. An hour later, just as I was getting ready to make a purchase and get something caffeinated, ringing begins to emanate from my purse.

Hello?
Where are you?
Barnes & Nobel.
She’s over by Barnes & Nobel. Do you want Taco Bell, Mickey D’s, or Wendy’s? They’re all over there. (Further discussion of eating establishments and orders – ultimately it was Taco Bell.) [Yimmels] wants Taco Bell. Would you mind picking it up for him? And then we can head to the movie and dinner.
No problem.
Are you ready to leave there?
Yeah. I just have to make a purchase and then I’ll be on my way.
Great. See you then.
Okay.
Okay. Bye.
Bye.

I left with a bible (this will make number 8, and explaining that could potentially be an entry in itself), picked up some Taco Bell, dropped both off at home and then proceeded to hear the results of putting my faith in action on the way to the movie. And right before the movie. And after the movie at dinner. Because it was a lengthy story. But a good one.

My weekend’s gone pretty fabulously so far. How about yours?

Oh, and that hiatus thing? I think it’s pretty much over with, really. I must think of the kitten(s) afterall. 😉

Love y’all.

What Bible? By the way, the hiatus shouldn’t have lasted too long. I wouldn’t have been all about finding you and wanting the coffee and chat and then you just up and hiatusing on me. So, glad you care for the kittens.

Yes, the kittens. We’ve lost a lot of good felines while you were away. Good to see you back. Love,

Mmmm, coffee and books. That sounds divine; I might make a similar trip today. My brother collects Bibles as well. Bibles and penguins, actually. I don’t know how many of either he has. 🙂

mmm… coffee and books, such a great combo. You like to leave out the mundane details, and I understand that. But now it’s bugging me – what movie did you see?

Damn straight you have to think about the kittens. Poor fool almost died. ALMOST.

I appear to have entirely missed your hiatus. which is a good thing.

You feel like you owe updates? I’m not even going to insult you with an analogy. Respect yourself, already.
