Life is full of watershed moments. People come and go. They all leave a mark, but some will go so far as to rock and reshape your world. Mine is decidedly better because your fingerprints are all over it.

Change is inevitable. Guaranteed, even. At this moment, I can’t say what lies ahead this year for either of us, but I’m expecting it to be good. Really and truly.

And so I want to send you into the rest of this year, and all the ones to follow, with this: I am glad you were born. I am glad over a third of my life has involved knowing you. I am glad far more than a third of my life is what it is due to that. But, above all else, when I say I have nothing but love for you, I mean it with everything in me.

So, in the days, months and years to follow, should you find yourself contemplative and looking back, and if it’s the parts that have anything to do with me, I want them to be stamped with that. No regrets, no sorrow… just nothing but love. I mean it.
