belly dancers
Tonight I went to a Greek restaurant in the Loop with Andy. The food was wonderful…salmon platter and fried feta. But I have to admit that I’m having a hard time figuring out why there were belly dancers there. His mother recommended the place and mentioned something about belly dancers. So we go there and order, it has tapas style dining, which also isn’t very Greek but that another story…and suddenly they put on Middle Eastern music and this belly dancers starts, well, dancing. We sat outside because it was such a beautiful night (July in St. Louis and it wasn’t hot, I was in shock) so the view of the belly dancer wasn’t the best, but I didn’t feel like that was a major loss.
In other non-belly dancing news yesterday I bought beautiful green shoes. *beams.* I can’t say that I have ever been excited about shoes in such a way before. And today when I went to the mall with Alex I bought a shirt that matches. This too is without precedent because I’m not sure that I’ve ever bought clothing to match my shoes before.
I finished Lord of the Rings yesterday night. That was very pleasant reading after all the insanity of the school year. And yet, while I realize that Tolkein is not high literature, it is a masterful and beautifully woven tale.
That is all. Time for the Aeneid…I sing of arms, and of the man…
i was on the loop today….wowswers so much fun to be had.
