3 months

Tomorrow Baby will be 3 months old. A quarter of the way through her first year. It’s kind of crazy how quickly she’s growing up! Anyway, just thought I would write down some random stuff about what she’s doing these days….

– She laughs, sort of. I’ve never actually heard another baby laugh like this, though…she just smiles really big and says "Ah! Ah! Ahh!" It’s really adorable, and weird, and I love it. Some of the things that produce laughter: making her "walk" while making noises like she’s stomping a city, godzilla-style; startling her; pretending to eat her fingers.

– She can almost, but not quite, hold up her head. She’s really pretty capable of it, at this point, but sometimes decides to randomly pitch her entire body backward with no warning, so I still have to keep a hand always ready to catch her before she gives herself whiplash or something.

– She’s a really fat baby!! It’s incredibly cute. There is not a single part of this girl that isn’t covered in chub…she even has little fat rolls on her fingers.

– She still sleeps in her carseat/stroller thing. Or on me. She still has never once slept in her bed.

– I’m apparently supposed to be making her do "tummy time," where I put her face down on the floor so she learns to push up on her hands and all that. She fucking HATES it. So I’m not really doing that…hopefully I’m not setting her up for a lifetime of being unable to do pushups. 🙂

– Aside from the fact that I can never set her down, she’s such a good baby. She rarely cries, and I can take her anywhere. I have a Mei Tai baby carrier that’s the best thing ever, so I just put her in that, button my coat around both of us, and we can go anywhere I need to go.

– She was on the small side when she was born, but she’s making up for lost time with the growing thing. Girl is getting HUGE! She’s already in 6 month clothes, and seems like a really tall baby. She seems to be taking after Noah with the height thing.

– She somehow doesn’t really look like either me or Noah (and before I get comments on it, YES, I know he’s her father. I wish people would quit leaving notes asking that). 🙁

– She has just recently (sort of) figured out how to use her hands. So far she mostly likes to use them to try and put everything in her mouth. Especially my hair.

– She has huge eyes and huge cheeks. In my totally unbiased opinion, she’s the cutest baby ever.
