It’s mah birfday

It’s 8am on my day off and I’m awake. I guess it isn’t so bad, especially since I had nothing to do last night and fell asleep around 10pm. Anyway.

Today is my birthday. There is going to be a party in Santa Cruz at one of my friend’s houses near the ocean, so it should hopefully be pretty cool. I hope I’ll be able to relax because I’ve been pretty depressed lately, wanting to move out of California and to just shut my brain off for awhile. I guess that’s why I haven’t really been updating. Maybe a birthday par-tay will help me see that some people in California are interested in who I am as a person, and that I’m not completely without a safety net here. ::sigh::

I just woke up so my brain isn’t working so well, but I just thought I should write since I’ve received a few birthday wishes already.

Do you ever have dreams that you’re in a relationship with someone that you don’t have a crush on in real life? For the past  3 or 4 nights I’ve been dreaming that I’ve been romantically involved with a guy I know from work, though I don’t really think I’m interested in him. Maybe my subconscious is just bored?
 
I’ve been working a lot lately, being stuck in front of the computer for the most part. I did drive around the city some to perform maintenance work on peoples’ trees (pruning, removing stakes, etc.). This kind of work is sometimes exciting, depending on the maintenance request. A pretty interesting one was a woman who called us because the watering basin for her tree had stuff growing in it that looked like vomit. Gross I know, but we drove out there and it ended up being some kind of slime mold. We took it back to one of the staff members at OCF and he now has it displayed on his bookshelf. Gross.

Yesterday we had to do doorknocking. I went with Carie and we were both kindof cranky, so we just ended up half-assing it (which made me feel bad…damn my good work ethic). After a couple of hours we went with Amanda and Renae to get ice cream. There were so many yelling children in that ice cream store…. I guess that’s to be expected on a Saturday afternoon.

Umm… I can’t think of anything else to say right now. Hopefully today will rule; I’m 23 now so I should try to enjoy it!
