I wuv Chai

So I recently realized that I have had this diary for 6 years and 7 months, and haven’t even made it to 1,000 entries yet. I guess I am basically saying I’m trying to not go a week or two without updating. I dunno.. I just liked reading through my old entries, and think that this period of my life will be one I might want to look back on later.

Anyway. (Is it correct to say "Anyway" or "Anyways"? I see both, but have only ever said the former.)

So for dinner last night we had frittata (sp), which I had never had before but learned was basically eggs + onions + cheese. It was okay I guess, but was pretty weird and I’ll be okay if I don’t have it very often. We also had cooked spinach which was my #1 enemy as a child… and last night I even gagged as I ate it. Yeah, I actually ate it because I figured it’d be kindof good for me, though it was disgusting and I don’t know if I’ll ever get over the psychological trauma. I really like raw spinach, but cooked spinach should be sent to the moon without enough fuel to make it back to earth. If I’m ever disgustingly rich this will be a project I will invest in, just watch.

Oh, we also had corn on the cob and that made me happy. Why am I talking about this? Well, to give you an idea of the exotic foods I have been experiencing since I’ve been in San Jose.

The grandparents I am staying with will be leaving tomorrow for a 2-week trip to Spain. This means the grandmother won’t be cooking dinner for us, but I’m sure we’ll manage somehow. Oh, and we get our first paychecks on Friday! Hells. Yes.

Last night I didn’t do much. Meaghan and I watched a little TV, including the Simpsons,Family Guy, and the last half of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Meaghan is really nice, though I haven’t mentioned much about her (or the other girl I’m living with, Karoline). Meaghan is 18 and we are living with her grandparents; Karoline is 24 and drove here from Massachusetts to work at Our City Forest with us. I do like them, and maybe I’ll talk more about them later.

So Paul left yesterday, like I said. They ran into a HUGE amount of traffic as they were driving back; the freeway they were on was actually shut down (going both directions) because of a horrific accident, and it took them probably 10 hours to get home (last time it took Paul only 5 1/2 hours). Yesterday just seemed to be a bad day in general to be driving on the southern CA freeways. They did arrive safely though, so that’s good. He was supposed to have the day off of work today (because he was still supposed to be gone), but I’m not sure if he’ll go in today anyway. If he does I hope he doesn’t punch his boss in the face! Heh.

I haven’t really done much today… I was going to get an oil change and look for work boots but that didn’t turn out so well, thanks to my current financial situation [broke!]. Hopefully within the next few days this will change. I did at least shower, and at some point I plan on doing laundry and BEING AWESOME. In the meantime I’ve been drinking chai and watching TV shows online. Entertaining!

I’m not sure how I’m feeling today. Things are generally going pretty well, though there are a few things that are pressing that I’m not quite sure how to do. One of those things is needing to find information about my student loans (which are exclusively federal, except one from a different lender), so I can fill out the appropriate forms to request loan forebearance. Anyone know where to find this information? I also need to pay my car insurance…like 2 days late. Hopefully that’s cool? We’ll see! WOO, WELCOME TO FINANCIAL ADVENTURE LAND, WHERE ALL OF THE TICKETS COST: UNAFFORDABLE, DON’T ASK.

Umm.. I think that’s about it for now. Oh yeah, I chatted with mom for a little while yesterday and that was cool. It’s always nice to get updates from home. Okay, that’s enough for now!

My Dad’s like that with spinach, and he actually says it’s traumatic for him to try and eat it cooked. I too prefer it raw but if it’s cooked and in lasanga or pizza I like it. It’s sweet that you pencil in “being awesome” into your day but I feel obligated to remind you that you are PERPETUALLY awesome just by being your amazing self!

RYN: Thank you, the tat did hurt, but I am a big girl can handle the pain.. The wreck in Cali was horrific, I am married to a truck driver, a this minute he is southern Cali.. Good luck with the new state, I am originally from LA, I have transplanted to Arkansas, its a little more laid back…

Kenny likes Chai too. Well, we all do, but ever since I had kenny taste it at the coffee shop in Pa, he’s been crazy about it. =P I’m glad that *most* things are looking better. I’ve had my diary for 7 years and 3 months and still haven’t reached 1000. Well, I suppose I would have if I hadn’t lost 300 entries to the infamous hacker. =P

Yeah, I’m not the biggest spinach fan, myself…I prefer to combine my spinach w/ pasta…like say pasta & cheesy alfredo…

ryn: I’m not certain what mental condition he is. Chuck and I estimated according to his actions/responses he has a mental intellect of a 12-16 yr old. What the problem is, since he wasn’t punished for hitting the woman, he thinks he’s in the right. People are babying him about the situation. Luckily, he doesn’t have a drivers license. I don’t think he can get one…or I hope.
