A little about the birthday, with weird pics.

So my birthday party was yesterday. At around 330ish Meghan, Karoline and I headed over to Santa Cruz to hang out at Renae’s house. Renae and Carie were there, along with Renae’s roommates and some other people. Bo showed up a little while later and we had a barbecue (well, hamburgers, cupcakes and too much beer). Renae actually got a keg, and I’ve never really seen people drink out of a keg before. I had also never played beer pong before and I feel a little less intellectual for having done so, hah. (Not that it’s really that big of a deal, I’m just sayin’)

Renae had some guys come over, but they didn’t show up until around 1045 and I fell asleep…. around 1030! I missed all the awkward interactions that go along with meeting new members of the opposite sex, and I’m not exactly bummed about this. It was cool to just relax and eventually beat the innards out of this pinata:

Bo got me this little keychain dude (who I guess we’re calling ‘Little Gandhi"); after a few beers and about 10 cupcakes Karoline decided to use pictures to tell a story. Here it is!

Yeah, so that’s that. I had a pretty good time, once I got over feeling weird about not being a partier/ not wanting to engage in regular party activities (beer pong, sexy dancing, stupid human tricks).

We ended up staying the night at Renae’s, woke up this morning and watched The Goonies (Carie bought it for me, and I had never seen it before). I liked it, but it was pretty intense! On an unrelated note, Renae had this pretty rad quilt that I guess her great-grandmother had sewn for her; I wanted one, so I ended up calling my mom and asking her to make me one. It was kindof impulsive but she agreed! I’m not sure how long making one of those takes though.

Today I did my Mother’s Day shopping. I got her some interesting things (that I can’t reveal of course), and hopefully she’ll like the stuff! I’ll probably send them as soon as I’m done reading "What is the What" by Dave Eggers, because I’m going to let/make her borrow it.
