15 months

Yes, 15 months. That’s how long I’ve lived in California. Can you believe it? I moved to southern CA at the end of May in ’07, and came to San Jose at the very, very beginning of October ’07.

Anyway, I only mention that because I’m leaving today. My AmeriCorps graduation is 1030am to 1pm-ish, and Renee and I plan on heading out not long after that. We hope to get to the Nevada/Utah border tonight, though we’ll play it by ear as there isn’t really any pressure time-wise. If all goes efficiently we should arrive late-ish on Monday.

I feel… a little funky actually since I didn’t sleep much last night. It’s only 7am now and I should still be sleeping, but my mind is too busy to let me. I know I’ll regret not having a good nights sleep later!

And about leaving San Jose/California all together, I also feel a little weird. I guess it’s because it’s the end of a phase of my life, and now I have to get ready to start a new one. I’ve also made a few really good friends here and it will suck to leave them! I guess that’s what Facebook’s for though.

I’m trying to take graduation, the 34-hour drive, and moving to Rochester in increments, but it’s all seeming like one large mass of change/anxiety on the horizon. Paul says I should enjoy the drive (WOO ROADTRIP!!!!!!!!), which I will definitely try to do. It’s nice that I have company too (my friend from Indiana flew out and is going to drive back with me).

This entry is kindof choppy because I’m tired and am also thinking too much.

Well.. hmmm…. I’m still a little out of it and need to shower/finish packing up my car, so I’ll update about this past week and also graduation later.
