YOUR OPINIONS PLEASE

I had an idea tonight. I want to hear your opinions. I have many paintings that I have done over the years. I am not planning to sell them. I will not have a show etc. So tonight I decided that I should have an open house and just give the paintings away. They are taking up a lot of room in the laundry room and it is really a shame for them to just sit there. So what I plan to do is call everyone I can think of and invite them to an open house let’s say between 7-9. I would display my paintings all over the house. I would allow people to choose the paintings they want and take them home.
Also I would have some of my shakes for them to try. I would not push my products just have the shake available. I would also have two charity boxes so people can put in some change to support ISRAEL.
That’s it and that’s all. So friends, what do YOU think?

I like the idea 🙂 maybe see if local churches, nursing homes, libraries, schools, etc. might like some of the paintings to brighten up some rooms?

good idea but why don’t you ask for donations for your favourite charity for the paintings instead of just giving them away. They are not worthless, you need to value your work somehow. Just a thought. hugs P,

I love the idea of giving paintings to your friends. I would be a bit put-off by the shakes, though. It would make me think the paintings were a guise to get me to your home to sell me products. Just my two cents.

Good idea, except ADD this to your idea. If you can SCAN all your paintings. This way you keep them even after you give them away. YOu can enjoy looking at them when you want to. If they are too large, scan PARTS Of each painting and then use the parts to do a whole collage art . that’s what I think. and Go ISRAEL! ..buy Sharon fruit to supportIsrael

If you can not scan your paintings, do this, get your cellular phone and take pictures of each painting. Once you email them to yourself the paintings will show better than they show on the phone. photograph all of your paintings

that’s a great idea. a good chance to get all your friends togther. nothing better than sharing with many of your friends and people in your life.

I think it’s a great idea! But I agree that you should photograph them first. I’d just love to see pics of your work!

I like your idea but agree that you have to be careful about doing the shakes, people may think you are being too pushy if they think you are trying to sell them something. Good luck!

What about a silent auction on the paintings. And the money from the paintings go to the donations. That way there’s no disagreement over who gets the painting if there more than one person that wants one painting.
