WONDERFUL EVENING

Although I wasn’t feeling the best today the evening turned out very pleasant. I guess with everyone here I was distracted and didn’t moan and groan about being HOT!

I stayed home all day preparing slowly and even getting in a nap towards the end.

I still feel warm and really not sure why. I can’t believe that it is menopause. After all I am 66. My sugar was over 8 this morning but I think my doctor once told me that I wouldn’t feel hot if my sugar was high. I sure hope this won’t last all winter………….

I had eight people for supper – a niece, my daughter, hubby’s brother and his wife and a couple – friends. I invited everyone for six but I’ve heard that some people start early in the afternoon. Not sure why………………

I served mock chopped liver, crackers, and quinoa salad. Then turkey with stuffing and sweet potato pie. My niece brought desert but I couldn’t serve it as it had cheese and as Jewish people we are not allowed to serve dairy and meat at the same meal. Luckily I had grapes. I also served tea. Very easy!!!!! I realize it is much better and easier to serve LESS! It’s also much less work!

Another couple that I had invited stopped by about 9. Apparently they had been invited to another place at three!!!!

We all had a nice chat. They left around nine after discussing shopping tomorrow. I really want to buy a new sewing machine tomorrow. I have to discuss it with hubby in the morning.

Not sure if I’ll do any other shopping. Time will tell.

It sounds like you had a very nice evening. May I ask why Jewish people don’t serve meat and dairy at the same meal? RYN – thanks!
