WHY I TRAVEL ALONE

Hubby and I use to drive to Florida together. I am not sure when I started to drive alone alone. At one time he would follow me. Sometimes we would just meet at night. So here are some of the reasons I now travel all alone.

1. I wanted to have my car in Florida so we could each come and go when we want. It isn’t that important anymore but we still take two cars.

2. Hubby use to leave at the beginning of November and I wanted to leave closer to December 1.

4. Hubby likes to get there in two nights. I find it difficult to sit in the car too long. Also I am in no rush to get there.

5. I love to stop a lot and shop and sightsee. Hubby HATES to stop.

6. I like to stop in NY. Hubby says it’s too dangerous.

7. I want to go see plays. He doesn’t.

8. I like to stop and visit friends on the way. All he wants to do is get there. I am there for four months so what’s the rush.

9. I am very impatient. This is one time I get to do whatever I want. I don’t think he would have spent a couple of hours at Barnes and Noble.

10. He doesn’t like the OUTBACK! of course he might have gone with me. He is more into fast food on the trip.

11. We use to have too much stuff to take. Now my trunk is almost empty.

12. He was also impatient with me. When I stopped at a rest area etc. he wanted to get back on the road too fast.

13. FINALLY I JUST LOVE BEING ON MY OWN AND NOT HAVING TO ANSWER TO ANYONE.

14. He drives to a schedule – up and gone at seven. I get up and ready when I wake up whatever the time.

Lots of good reasons. I first thought of the saying ” He who travels fastest travels alone” but dont think this applies to you.lol.Good to do it your way. Lots of stops and lots of shopping, why rush through the best things in life. take care.

I think it’s a perfect arrangement! It is a vacation for you! And you certainly earn it. :o) !! hugs, Nicky

Sounds good! I admire your independence! I’ll bet he does too, even if secretly!

You should go alone if he’s such a rigid traveler. My dad was like your husband, had to make “time” when we were on vacation.

I can totally relate to almost all of your reasons. It’s good to be independent!

I actually like driving alone too, I haven’t driven as far as you do but my trip up to Boston from NJ was quite pleasant. I stopped when I wanted to and ate what I wanted. So I get it.

I think driving alone would be lonely and I’m probably too chicken to do something like that on my own but I understand every one of your reasons! Enjoy your trip and stay safe.
