Are these words familiar to you?

Why are we in such a rush?

Why are we running pass this moment to another not yet here?

Do we realize what we are missing?

Why not slow down! Look around! Smell the flowers! Look into someone eyes! Hear, really hear, what they say not just the words.

As I was driving home from the hospital with tears running down my face I heard an ad on the radio. A little boy was explaining how proud he was that he was the only four year old in his class that could read! I thought so what?????????????????????????

Daycare at three months!

Reading at four!

Ballet at five!

Home alone after school at 7!

Makeup at 8!

Sex at ten!

Smoking at 12!

Sex at thirteen!

Drugs at 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For heaven’s sake……….when is the time for games and toys………….for being little boys and girls? When is the time to just be a kid?

well said! So true and such a sad way to live. Unfortunately the rush-rush society is everywhere in the western world…and getting faster by the day. No wonder there is so much crime, stress related disease and violence. We are also very much a ‘me me me’ society….. I long for the old days sometimes. hugs P

time seems to pass so quickly nowadays. it seems i just got back to school since spring break and now we are already nearing the 4th week and talking about midterms. where in the world did the time go…..? i long for the days before the internet. and cell phones…

I don’t think you were wrong in your last note … its always good to get a fresh perspective on things and you were right, his long hours are definitely something to consider when it comes to marriage and the long run. You made me stop and think about it- and thats never bad! I love this entry, too… it seems like everyone is always in such a rush that they forget to stop and just enjoy life sometimes.
