WHEN I GET HOME

I will have a lot to do when I get home and only a little over a week to get it all done!!!!!!!!! Thought I would list it here to help me when I get home.

Passover starts Monday, the 25th.
My daughter and her boyfriend are coming on the 22nd. Maybe they’ll help???????

Unpack everything!!!!!
Make a Passover food order.
Make a meat order for Passover.

Find all the Passover dishes, pots and pans etc.

Start to cook!

meatballs
chicken soup
knaidles for soup
brisket with potatoes
chopped liver – maybe vegetarian liver also
some type of chicken

I will also need to prepare:

charoseth
salad
fruit
cake????
salt water

Looks too easy. I must have forgotten some things.
I am thinking of using paper products for the seder. I am only having my children so 10 the first night and five the second.
I have an appointment on the second day of P. I think I will change it if I don’t have to wait too long for another appointment.
I need to buy a birthday present for my son but have no idea what. We usually just give money. Any suggestions????

I usually give my sons money also but this year I added a gift along with the money. I got both of them T-shirts with logos of something they like on them. Jason just bought a Ducati motorcycle so I got him a Ducati shirt. Roger loves the guitar so I got him a shirt with a playable guitar on it. There are lots of websites with ideas for men’s gifts on them.

You can’t go wrong with money or a gift card, I gave up trying to figure out what to buy for my daughters.

Here’s what I told my parents (and close friends, too). If I see it, want it and can afford it, I buy it for myself. Unless you see something I haven’t seen or can afford more than I can – please just give me consumables – wine, gift certificates, experiences (like trips to the theatre) with you. Or, better still, give the money to a charity. Now, if they don’t have enough money of their own, that all changes, but if they do… that would be my advice.

I helped my MiL last year during Passover. You’re right, it is a lot of work!! I agree with your other noters, you can’t go wrong with money as a gift.

I am sure your daughter will help. One would think at any such gathering people attending would all contribute in some way…it shouldn’t all be left to you at this time. All the best for your Passover anyway….hugs p
