WHAT I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT – OK

A few entries back I wrote about what I was passionate about. I don’t know what I wrote and I am too tired and too lazy to check now. I don’t think it matters anyways. Unless I contradict myself and I doubt it.
Tonight I went to our local bookstore, Chapters, to read my book on the Kindle. It is called Sarah’s Key and I love it. It is about the Holocaust. I have read a lot about the Holocaust and plan to read more. I am not even sure why.
Anyhow after reading the book I started to drive home and realized what are my passions.
I am PASSIONATE about being Jewish. It is the center of my being. Even though I don’t believe at all in a GOD or higher being I am TOTALLY JEWISH. I love all the traditions and the music. I LOVE JERUSALEM. I am passionate about having my grandchildren learn about being Jewish. My son and his girlfriend don’t seem to have any feeling about it so I think it is up to me. I just have to decide on the best way to pass down my passion.
I am also passionate about children. I LOVE children. I love spending time with them. I would love to be BUBBY to lots of children – to share activities together.
This afternoon I spent time with my grandson. His baseball game was rained out so I wasn’t sure what we would do. I had planned to take him horseback riding but it was also cancelled. Instead we drove to the mall where there is a playground. He played there awhile and then we went on the train ride around the mall. After that we went to the bookstore where I read him a book and he bought a few. We came home and while I made supper he played with his WEBKINZ on the computer. All in all we had a great afternoon together.
In the car I played Jewish/Hebrew music. He asked me what Yerushalayim meant. I would love to take him to Israel one day but probably by the time it would be meaningful to him I will be too old.
All this has inspired me to stay healthy. I hope it’s not too late. I have to make sure I exercise and watch what I eat a little closer.
So it’s time for bed. Sorry I haven’t been keeping up with your entries. I do think about all of you. Maybe on the weekend.
Oh today hubby and I went to the synagogue to reserve our plots!!!!!!!!!! Number 123 and 124!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad you are so proud of your faith, I am not a religious person but being raised as a catholic I have been trying to find my true belief and not there yet, just concentrating on my life and boys and work. Sounds like you have been very busy every day. Enjoy your weekend!

I always felt a bond with you, didn’t know why, but loved your outlook on life, now I know. I’m not Jewish, but for some or other reason I always read about the faith, the culture, the people, the history and I adore the Jewish wit and sense of humor. Grew up with so many Jewish people. Not a bad way of life indeed 😉 Okay, I’m not into Jewish music, but I can dance the Hava Nagila with gusto!

I really like and admire how passionate you are about your Jewish faith and your children and grandchildren. It is so commendable. Nowadays there is not enough passion about either of those things in the world! hugs, Weesprite
