WHAT A DAY! – OK
Today was a day to listen to everyone’s problems.
First my cleaning lady came and told me about her mother who is sick.
Then I went to meet my ex DIL. We met for lunch and had a great talk. How much could I believe what she said? trust her? I choose too but what if I’m wrong? I decided I don’t care. I mean well and I am going to try to help her keep the senior home running. Maybe I am way out of my league. So what?
Then I went to pick up my grandson. He didn’t want to come here so we stuck around his area. We went to play mini golf – at least he played and I watched. I walked around the court with him. Then we went to McDonalds. We had to tiem to eat, talk and play.
The I took him home. OY!!!!!!!!! My son’s girlfriend was holed up in the room helping her son do his homework. She was at her wit’s end and SO UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!! He would write a letter. It wasn’t perfect so she erased it. She was beside herself. I told her to stop. It wasn’t good for either of them. She went out crying and I helped put the kids to bed. She called the teacher who told her that he was doing ok in class. It seems as if he doesn’t have patience to learn or is just not interested. I told her to take it easy.
She is such a nervous wreck trying to be everything and everything for everyone. Anyhow my son went to play baseball and I stayed for a couple of hours to let her talk. I hope it helped. She worries about keeping her job. She worries about the kids when they are with her ex. She is upset because the anniversary of her mother’s death is coming up. I hope the time I spent helped her a little.
She is planning to come to the synagogue with us on Saturday so I am happy about that. It will be great for us and the kids.
Anyhow I am pretty much wiped out. Tomorrow is a stressful day as I have to prepare for the holidays. I only have five coming for supper tomorrow night but I am still preparing a lot. Then Saturday I am having about ten for lunch. Sunday will probably be very quiet. I am not sure if we are going to shul or not. I guess it will depend if my son wants to go or not.
So that was my day in a nutshell. Time to relax and play Club Penguin.
listening is the most important part of communication. well done. hugs P

Sounds like son’s girlfriend thinks she has to be perfect. She needs to relax, bless her heart it is hard I know. I think she needs to let her son do his work, and she can help him but let him be the one to accept the consequences, it will help him learn more that way. I was married to a teacher for 21 years, hehe. Love,

How generous you are to give so much time to these two women and I’m guessing you are helping them both a great deal. Kudos to you. I’m a bit sorry for girlfriend’s child. I’m not so sure she should be “helping” him at all…

I bet your listening helped a lot. I hope she can relax some soon. I know how that kind of stress can get to you. Hope today is less stressful for you.
