VERY SAD, BAD NEWS – OK
I received an email this afternoon from a very old and dear friend. She has cancer! She has a mass in her breast. They think her cancer may have spread to her liver. They are planning to do a bone scan. Hubby and I have known this couple forever so are understandably upset. I sent an email which is probably inadeqaute but didn’t know what else to do. Maybe we’ll call her tomorrow or definitely when we get back home. I don’t know what we can say………………………..
I can’t help thinking that one day it will be our turn to get bad news about one of us. OY!! I don’t know how I’ll cope.
Otherwise I had a pretty good day. I went shopping in the morning – mostly for food but also for some craft supplies at Michaels.
Then friends came over. We had supper together and visited for awhile. Tomorrow we are playing MahJongg at 11 – 2:00. Then it will be time for lunch and to go home.
Another weekend over.
I hope your friend will get better…

I agree just keep sending her uplifting emails and let her know you are here for her. If she calls then let her talk, sometimes talking to someone who is not family helps as you usually try not to upset your family and you hold your fear inside of you and put up a good front. That is how I felt when I had my cancer, and the one thing I did not want was people feeling sorry for me, that is hard to handle at a time like this…..huggs

I’m sorry to hear about your friend! Modern medicine can do amazing things.. one of my best friends has been in remission for a good 8 years or so. I hope your friend’s story turns out the same way! Being there for her and sending e-mails and making daily phone calls is a great way to keep her spirits up. Good luck to her!
