UTTER CHAOS – OK

Yesterday was a very hectic day. In the morning I went to pick up my grandaughter at daycare. I took her swimming. She just loves the water and isn’t afraid at all. After swimming we had lunch in the small restaurant closeby. We both had grilled cheese and then of course I had to buy her junk from the vending machine. We went to my house where I had a new toy for her. At two thirty we left with hubby to pick up my two grandsons. That is when the chaos started. I don’t know why but THREE is alot. So much noise. One of my grandsons is a real challenge. When I am alone with him it’s pretty easy but in a group. OY! Anyhow we went to have donuts. This one grandson wanted two of them. He wouldn’t sit at the table but was walking around the window ledge. I finally understand what his mother was saying about him. Of course my other grandson wanted to follow him. When I am one on one they are just about perfect. I don’t think we will ever take the three together again.
We took them to play mini golf. I couldn’t find the place. I don’t know why as I have been there so often. Anyhow we finally got there. Hubby and I decided not to play. The boys just run around the golf course. I stayed with my grandaughter. At one point my grandson got hit with the golf club. Of course it was just an accident.,………….
McDonald’s was next. Hubby waited at the table as I went to get the food. The kids were playing in the park. I returned to the table and put the food in different places on the table. Well one grandson wanted to sit near another one. That’s not where I had put him. To make a long story short he ran to another chair and my other grandson’s chair landed on his foot. OY!!!! The screaming! We got ice and finally he settled down enough to eat.
I was happy at the end of the day to take them home. I told hubby next time we will just take ONE even if we are two. It gives us a chance to enjoy the individual child and spoil them. After all that’s what grandparents are for!!!!!!
We are at the trailer now. I woke up very late so it’s ten and I haven’t eaten breakfast yet.
We’re still trying to decide on a cruise for Christmas.
We’re still looking for a condo. We have one more to look at on Monday. Sometimes I am sorry that we decided to move as I am so use to my home. After all I have been there over thirty years.
Time for breakfast and shopping. What else?

Yeah 3 are too many at once. I knew that already and I do not even have any grandchildren 😉

Well I am down to 4 now, and by day’s end, may be down to 3. There are days when I wonder what was I thinking, having FIVE children!!! But I LOVE them all and would NOT trade them for a thing in this world.

Three is just not a good number. I have found that it is true for adults get togethers as much as children.

That doesn’t sound like fun at all. I love kids but I’m kind of “over” them for now at least.

i can take care of just one at a time. three would have me run screaming from the room!!! one at a time means more spoiling for that one. take care,

It sounds a wee bit like the parents have not taught them to behave — that is the problem my husband and I have with our two youngest — they are ALREADY spoiled and how can we spoil them? No fair!

Oh the little imps! 🙂 One on one would likely be a better situation. We tell our grandkids that if they don’t behave, they’ll be taken home to their parents. We only did it once. Snooky was being disrespectful to Pops and he told me to take her home. It’s the only time that has happened – she behaved after that.

Oh, three small children sounds like about two too many. Yes, from now on take one at a time, so you can enjoy them and they can enjoy you.RYN: The problem with just accepting my weight is that, if I don’t make an effort to lose, I will gain. And that means I’m at even greater risk of health problems, whether or not I take medication. My mother suffered a series of tiny strokes which caused dementia; I don’t at all want to go the same road. My memory is already far worse than it was; it’s possible I’ve already had a “transient cerebrovascular accident” or two. I don’t want to make a habit of it.

You’re wonderful grandparents to take all three…. but I agree…. next time take one at a time! :o) !! I had to smile as I read about your hectic day with them…. since I wasn’t the one who was there doing it! hugs, Weesprite

You had your hands full with the children, didn’t you. LOL! But you made it. You are a trooper!
