TODAY SO FAR – OK
I woke up about nine this morning. My hubby was pacing in the living room. He thought he had gas pains. He went to lie down. When he woke up he realized it was probably his hernia. That is what I had said. He has needed a hernia operation for a few years but since it hasn’t really bothered him he he has put it off. He wears a hernia belt all the time. I told him it was a fairly easy operation and he should have it done. He had one many years ago. Of course he won’t do it before Florida. I just hope he doesn’t have any problems in Florida. I don’t understand people who put off operations etc because they want to go to Florida. I don’t think I would. It’s not worth it.
I put a washing in and I’m changing the beds. My cleanin lady didn;t come this week and won’t come un til next Thursday.
I was sewing my memory quilt but it wasn’t going well so I stopped. I am not sure what I’ll do. I used a basting spray and think it was the wrong thing.
I don’t want to stay home all day so I think I’ll go shopping for the holidays which are next week. Maybe I’ll even get my hair done. I should get a manicure too.
First thing is I must get on the treadmill and finish the washing. We have nothing planned so I can go shopping later.
The bell is ringing. Better go change the washing.
i do hope your husband reconsiders the hernia surgery. take care,

Hernia surgery is probably the best thing but we all tend to put things off that are good for us.

I hope he doesn’t have problems in Florida either. Were you using the basting spray on paper so you could put it through the printer? I also spray very lightly, and peel the paper off as soon as possible. If it is paper glued to fabric, you can soak it in a basin of water and it should come off easily and it shouldn’t hurt the picture on the fabric.

RYN: If was fun. Of course, there wasn’t any thunder and lightning. If there had been, I wouldn’t have danced because I wouldn’t want to get struck by lightning. Take care!!

How do you get the pics onto the fabric for the memory quilt? Iron on transfers? Hubby should have the operation but I’d probably put it off also. I’m a chicken plain and simple.

ryn: Thank you for your note. I hope you’re feeling better too. Men! Most of them like to ignore their medical issues.

Definitely your husband should get that seen to. Especially while in Canada where he won’t have to go into debt having surgery.

My dad wore a hernia belt and put off surgery for years, when he got around to the operation he said there was nothing to it and he wished he’d had it done years earlier! But none of us like operations so I can see where your hubby is coming from. Like your diary, you seem a very caring person. [Random noter]

I agree, your hubs should get that surgery as soon as he can, because it will only worsen. hugs P

People putoff operations because so many times after the operation, they do not feel better but sometimes they feel worse. That’s why they put it off. Here in our city, you are better off staying out of the hospitals as long as you can stay out of them. 90,000 errors , prescription and surgery errors happen every year in the USA, and these people die. That is whypeople stay out of the hospitals. Good hospitals? Try Methodist in Brooklyn, NY, and try Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC NY, Try the special cancer hospitals all over the USA if you have cancer …don’t go to an ordinary hospital. Try private and some religious-based hospitals , take your chances there. But at all costs, try and stay clear of the clearly-government run hospitals. With the exception of Kings county Hospital in brooklyn NY, Their speciality is SEVERE TRAUMA, If you have severe Trauma Kings County is best. For Depression–Kings county practically kills people –as per the news story of the lady who went there and died in the waiting room, No one even noticed she was dead –for about four hours.

If your husband’s hernia is not manageable anymore and if he is in constant excruciating pain, it should or might be the time for him to get himself to a hospital. Youcan try and convince himto go. Do some researchonthe good hospitals where you live …and tell him which ones are best and suggest that he go to the emergency room there. One more important note

Remember this, if he is ever mistreated inside a hospital, you can tell him he can leave there and go RIGHT to the emergency room of another hospital –that’sin America, you can do that. In America, ALL hospitals must accept you into their emergency room if you have an emergency. Even if you just came from a different hospital, they can not turn you away if you have a true emergency. My husband (with my help and my daughter’ help) left the Woodhull (horrible horrible hospital) to go right to the emergency of a better hospital. They couldn’t turn us away. We called in advance to make sure. And we were told that they can not legally turn away ANY patient who comes to their emergency room–even if the patient comes right from another hspital. We had to take him by CAR since NO ambulance wouldmake the transfer without doctors orders.
