How strange! The same happens here! This area, where I live since 1975 looks as being taken over by Arabs. The maine street that used to be a long nice shopping street with many beautiful shops changed in about 10 years to a place full with phone/internet shops and small Arab food shops. The situation is frightening especially because many (not all) show no respect for us neither for our culture

or customs. Result of all this tolerance from our governement is that 35% of the Belgian voted for a party that is calling for very strict immigration and integration rules. Illegals should be sent right back from where they come they say. Our government is doing a bad job right now and if it comes to new election I am afraid for the outcome will be more votes for the opposition again!

At this moment we have more an more Arab women who want/have to come out on the streets dressed in Burka…you know, the dress that totally covers the body and most of the face. We don’t want those women dressed like that. They frighten us. Everybody can can be inside such a dress! Our government is now trying to forbid Burkas with an old rule that says that it’s not allowed to walk on the street

in carnival dresses except one week in February/March when we celebrate Mardi Gras. The same is going on in the surrounding countries! I always wanted to stay here in the city but now I am thinking of moving out to the country as soon as I quit school in some 7 years or so. Have a great weekend,

Interesting that you say “taken over by Arabs” as if that was a terrible tragedy. This country was made up by people who migrated from other countries to make a better life for themselves. Just because they aren’t caucasian doesn’t mean they might not be lovely people. My mother says the same thing about the Chinese in San Francisco and I hate it when she does.

Youcan have asthma from being too clean. Some children have reactions from the cleansers, aerosols, the strong scents, brings on the coughs, especially if the child is allergic to that particular item or scent. it’s kinda allergic asthma …hurts just as bad, but you can avoid being sick, it’s more controllable. peace

It’s interesting that you say that. I’m half arabic, my father was born and raised in Syria as a muslim. I’m neither religious nor is he anymore. The media shows arabs in their most extreme form as killers and women haters, I find them as a people very lovely and welcoming. If you take a look around you will see there are similar extreme people in every country. Unfortunately.

Don’t blame all the Arabs. Every group has it’s radicals. But I agree we’re living in crazy scary times. I have pains in my knees too and I know it’s from the dancing. I bought some really good aerobic shoes and that helps a bit.

I’ve also heard the argument that allergies arebecoming more frequwnt because we don’t expose our small children to bacteria etc. i.e. we are too clean. Seems plausible. Yes, the successive waves of new migrants who come can seem frightening at first. Here we were afraid of Greeks and Italians, then Vietnamese. Now they are seen as Australians but we now feel uncomfortable around African migrants.

It is hard to believe how cruel people can be. I don’t know that I want to know what the future holds either. A girls trip sounds like a lot of fun. I think I would like a family trip. Have the guys come along & the girls can do their thing while the guys do their’s & we meet for meals, etc. That’s what we’re going to do for our 20th anniversary. A trip to St Thomas is in the early planning stage
