THE WORLD TODAY
STILL SUICIDE BOMBERS IN AFGHANISTAN…………………………WHY DID SO MANY US YOUNGSTERS DIE OVER THERE?
HATRED OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE IS RAISING ITS UGLY AND TERRIFYING HEAD AGAIN…………..HOMES VANDALIZED……….WHY?????????????
REPEAT OFFENDERS………….YOUNG MEN WHO BEAT UP AN OLD LADY HAVE CONTINUED TO COMMIT CRIMES…………………THEY SHOULD BE SENT TO THE MOON AND LEFT THERE
CHILDREN ABANDONED AT AN AIRPORT……………….
Look what’s happening in the US weather wise………..WHY??????????????
I am sure there are many wonderful things happening in the world but when you hear the tragic stories it’s impossible not to cry out, WHY????????
Why is there so much hatred?
Why is there so much violence?
Why aren’t people more tolerant?
Could it be that part just part of the reason is that children are brought up by strangers??????????
Could it be because of poverty?
Could it be because children are not taught respect?
Could it be because people are consumed by electronic gadgets and there is no more people to people contact?
So what’s your say????
It’s because we live in “critical times, hard to deal with”.

Children are not taught respect. Of themselves or of others. Children are allowed to watch movies and TV that do not show a value of life. Many children are not brought up by parents that love them. Or the parents do not love themselves so cannot teach love to their children. I could go on and on but it would do no good.

Parents have to work so hard sometimes two and three jobs just to put food on the table and pay their rent/mortgage, children are basically left to fend for themselves, many turn to drugs and alcohol because they are bored and desperate for friends who are a bad influence. We have had several kids die here from drug overdoses, my daughter personally knew two of them. 18 years old, what a waste! Sad.

I think all the things you mentioned play a big part in the rise of crime. We have parents who both work and then do not have time with their children so they can teach them. Where are the caregivers, seems to be fewer of us out there. Plus the violence on TV. I think it all plays a part. As a Grandparent we can also help instill good virtues in our grandchildren. I sure try with mine. Love,

Too many excuses are being made for kids who have been raised with a sense of entitlement. They are not taken to task when they err. Parents treat them like precious little darlings rather than children who need to be guided and disciplined. Kids are not born with bad manners and no sense of citizenship. They learn it from their parents, TV, their peers, and their community. Elaine

I think that all the reasons you listed are reasons, and there’s probably more than just those. The world is a mess nowadays. What we can do, is do everything we can to make the wee little part of the world that is “ours,” as good as we can. If everyone who cares, did that, then it would end up making a big difference. But people get to feeling hopeless and believing that nothing they can do matters, and they end up moping around or being angry all the time and don’t do nearly all the good that they could do. hugs, Nicky

I forgot to respond to your request the other day when you asked for recommended reading. Ask your librarian to direct you to the ‘Inspirational reading’ section….or maybe seek out authors like M.Scott Peck, Gerald Durrell ( animal stories), Eckhart Tolle, Bill Bryson, Bernie Sigel and Wayne Dwyer. They vary in their writing but all easy reads and enjoyable. There is also a great book that may interest you by a Rabbi Harold Kushner called ‘Why Bad things Happen to Good people’. Also don’t overlook the ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ series….some are corny but most are inspiring..and all true stories. Have fun looking. hugs p
