THE WEEKEND THAT WAS
We had a great weekend even though we were busy most of the time. Friday night we watched the Olympics. I think it would have been better if we had a larger screen. It’s the first time I cared about the TV or the size of the screen. Usually I am just listening anyways.
Saturday my son and his family came. We didn’t stop for a minute. I made lunch and then took my DIL shopping. Meanwhile the children, my hubby and their father went to the pool. We returned about four. My DIL and I took over caring for the kids while hubby and my son went for happy hour. Luckily it wasn’t at our trailer as it usually is. I made supper – chicken on a stick. Then we went over to the family of my grandson’s friend. There we had a bonfire and I tasted my first S’MORES! Yummy but sweet! At nine the family left except for one grandson. He was sleeping over. This grandson never stops!
Sunday morning my hubby gave him breakfast etc. I stayed in bed until 8:30 so my hubby was "forced" to interact with his grandson. He always gave our children breakfast as I always slept in on weekends but this time I stayed in bed on purpose. After that hubby gave my grandson the Walkie Talkie. He wandered off to find his friend and hubby had FUN talking to him while he explored the campground. We went to the pool. The water was cool but great. We left for home about four. We had supper at my son’s and then returned home to unpack and watch the Olympics. I enjoy the gymnastics so much. Just wish would show the Canadians.
So I have a busy day ahead. First I will go swimming, then Canasta and then going to watch my grandsons play softball. Just debating if I should go swimming and come home and then go back to play Canasta. It’s in the same complex. Now that I typed this I guess I will go swimming a little later, eat a sandwich and go right to Canasta and then right to baseball. My hubby probably won’t come so I will travelling alone as usual today.
I am in shock that you have lasted all this time without ever having a S’more!

Your very first s’more??? Amazing!!! I love them but have to watch that I don’t eat more than one or the sugar flares up my digestive system…

Guess you never went camping as a child? I love them and still have them on occasion!

I didn’t grow up eating s’mores either, but once introduced to them when my daughter entered Girl Scouts, I was hooked. I will occassionally make them now, via a shortcut: I put a marshmallow on a graham cracker square and heat it in the microwave util the marshmallow gets really puffy (about 20 seconds), then I quickly sandwich the marshmallow-cracker with another cracker that I’ve already puta square of chocolate on. The hot marshmallow melts the choclate and it’s a wonderful, gooey mess. voila! instant s’mores 🙂

I watched a little of the Olympics with my grandson Corey. He enjoys watching the Olympics, of course that one is sports minded. Have a good day. Love,
