THE HOLIDAYS SO FAR

It’s been hectic! I’m exhausted. I realized today that I can no longer walk to the synagogue. I am not sure if it’s because it was hot or I just can’t! I find it too hard to walk and so tomorrow I will drive over. The walk is over 30 minutes. I can swim with ease for 45 minutes. I could probably do more but the walk is a totally different thing. So even though I feel bad I just won’t walk tomorrow. Not sure what hubby will do.
I picked up my daughter from the train station yesterday. We stopped for a quick lunch and then came home. I had hubby cut the meat and my daughter set the table. I use to do everything myself. No more! I am getting OLD! We had a very pleasant supper. Before they left we had a group family hug. You should try it. The kids get in the middle and we all surround them and squish them. It’s fun!
Today we went to the synagogue. The old rabbi and his wife were there. He hasn’t been there since he retired so I am curious why he is back. For me it was wonderful and very emotional especially when he took part in the service. Silently I was crying and remembering fifty years praying with him.
I love his voice and so did my mother.
We came home around two thirty. We had lunch and then I went for a nap. I thought my son was coming in the afternoon but he didn’t come until seven. We had supper which they all enjoyed.
Pizza and lasagna. I made a scavenger hunt for the children so it kept them busy so the adults could chat.
They left around nine. My daughter went out to meet her friends. I thought  would go to sleep but of course I couldn’t so here I am.
Guess I’ll go watch TV and then try again.

30 minutes walk, especially in summer heat….would be tiring. A younger person may cope ok but its time to acknowledge we are at a slow down age. hugs and smiles p
