STILL ON MY WAY I
I am in Santee, South Carolina. I had a very good drive yesterday. I wasn’t tired or anything. I did nosh most of the day. For whatever reason it makes the drive easier. I ate chips, sunflower seeds and sugar free candy. Of course I also ate three meals. I had breakfast in the motel, Lunch at POPEYES an supper at a local retaurant. I am staying at a Hampton Inn which are always nice.
The weather is still cold but I have a feeling when I stop tonight it won’t be. I should be somewhere in Florida tomorrow. I might be able to make it home but not sure. I still have to drive through South Carolina and then Georgia first. I am not sure if I want another night on the road or not.
Yesterday I stopped at a wonderful discount store where I bought some dolls. They are relatively cheap – between ten and twenty dollars each. I bought a swing for my granddaughter’s doll and some sugar free candy. The store has everything. I also bought a few books for my grandchildren – 1.00 each. Then I stopped at a SAS store and bought a pair of sandals.
I went to bed about nine. I guess that’s why I’m up now. The bed should be extremely comfortable BUT I find the mattress too hard, the cushions too soft (one is not enough and two is too much) and the comforter is soft and thick but too heavy for me. Anyhow I have the heat turned on so I am sure I will get back to sleep soon.
I have mixed feelings of arriving in Florida. I know it’s not that hot and that’s great. It will take me time to unpack and get organized. Then I will ahve to get into some sort of routine. Some of my friends are there already and others aren’t but will be coming soon. I am not sure if I will register for any courses or not. I am thinking of taking an art course at the Boca museum or at the clubhouse. I also would like to take Israeli dancing but not sure if I could do it. I will definitely start swimming as often as possible in the indoor pool. I will read and quilt. I want to make two quilts for my grandchildren. They have twin beds so shouldn’t take that long. I will have to find a pattern – maybe I’ll use the same one but different fabric. I also want to rent a three wheel bike to see if I’ll like it and use it.
Of course I will be spending time with my daughter, family and friends.
Hanukah will be coming soon(end of December). I plan to make a party. Once I’m settled in I’ll have to decide on a date. I already bought some little gifts for everyone at the dollar store back home.
I am sure I am going to gain weight on the drive down. I did order a baked potato yesterday instead of fries. I LOVE FRIES! The baked potato was yummy so maybe I can do it more often. I usually don’t eat everything on my plate which is lucky because I nosh so much between meals especially after supper or on this drive between lunch and supper.
OK! I think I am tired enough to get some more sleep.
We stay at Hampton Inn as often as we can when we are on the road. They are nice.

I don’t understand why you prefer to drive rather than fly. It always is such a long tiring journey for you this way. hugs P

I think you should try the Israeli dancing and it would be healthy for you too.

Driving and snacking seem to go together. That’s a lot of driving if you are the one doing it all.
