SO FRUSTRATED, DISAPPOINTED AND ANGRY AT MYSELF OK

I am so disappointed in myself. I am so angry and frustrated. Yesterday I received a check for the paintings I sold. I immediately went to deposit the check. So I now had money to spend or so I thought. I should have saved it but I got carried away as usual. I could have lived with that. This morning, when I woke up, my hubby told me that the bank had called and I was overdrawn. Apparently the check was postdated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby deposited money to cover the overdraft but I was so upset that once again I had messed up and he knew. I just never seem to get it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am wondering if I should transfer my account to another bank so hubby wouldn’t know anything. On the other hand what would I have done if my account was at another bank. I would have had to tell him…………….I try so hard to manage and yet every once in awhile things get messed up. One thing for sure. If I was ever left to my own devices I would have to hire someone to manage my money.
Luckily hubby didn’t say anything.
So now I’m having lunch and waiting for a friend to come over to help with my quilting. I want to finish two I have and then start a baby quilt. My daughter’s friend is due in January.
Then we are going to watch my grandson play baseball and after that it will be off to the trailer. I am debating what to take to the trailer. Lately I have been taking my eggs and scrapbooking. maybe I will today too.

it sounds like something i might do! :oO !! I’m glad your husband didn’t say anything about it, though. That helps! hugs, Weesprite

Do you have online banking so you can check your own account as often as you need to do? That might help. But look…no big deal, really. You’d think that the bank would call you though and not your husband.

I have to handle all my own, and I have made mistakes too. It is easy to miss the date on a check if you aren’t careful, I know, I have done the same thing. So don’t beat yourself up to much. We all make mistakes. Love,

i do that every once in awhile, it is nice when the husbands do not get upset with us though….huggs

Don’t go beating yourself up. It happens.

Bouncing a check is not the end of the world. You did that by accident, could happen to anyone. Peace.

I blame it on the person who wrote the check. She should have brought it to your attention that it was post-dated. It was easy for you to overlook since you didn’t expect it. I wouldn’t have checked for that, either. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You aren’t in business and you aren’t used to handling checks. I’m pretty sure it won’t happen again.

Nobody’s perfect… it’s a shame you didn’t notice the check was post-dated though. (huggles)

i check my balance online every day to be sure I have enough. Also ask your bank if they will link a savings account with your checking account so if there is not sufficient funds they will transfer money into the account, I have it and it gives me peace of mind.

REgarding your note: How will your family read that after you die if you are anonymous? How will they know where to find it and know that this journal is yours?

It happens, Honey. It’ll be okay. That was why I always dealt in cash only. At least, until I decided to try the bank card route. RYN: I agree, but how would you prove some of those circumstances? She could be lying.

I’m surprised the bank even took a postdated check!

I have trouble with the bank all the time. And everytime I turn around it is something else with them they like to over charge out the wazoo if you ask me. I randomed in and have been enjoying reading your entries I would like to add you as a friend.
