READ TODAY AT OUR MEMORIAL SERVICEI
It was a long day. I woke up early so I could get ready. By nine thirty friends started to show up. At ten we tried to hook up with the funeral home in Montreal. We called a few times. The "manager" told us that we would be hooked up. It was very disappointing as we could hardly hear anything. We shared some memories. Some stood longer and ate something but not much. At the end someone read this poem!!! Wonderful!!
TO THOSE I LOVE AND THOSE WHO LOVED ME
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love but you can only guess
How much you gave back to me in happiness
I thank you for the love you have shown
But now it’s time for me to travel on alone.
So grieve a while for I know you must
Then let your grief be comforted in the trust
That it’s only for a while that we must be apart
Bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away for life goes on
If you need me, call, and I will come
Though you can’t see me or touch me, I’ll be near
Listen with your heart and you will hear
All of my love around you so soft and clear.
And then when you must come this way alone
I’ll greet you with a smile and say, Welcome Home."
That is a lovely poem!

That was beautiful. I went to see a good friend in the hospital yesterday, I think she will be leaving this world soon. I cried when I got home. I know she will be at peace soon. Love,

Sounds like the memorial service went well – pleased to hear that. This poem is so, so wonderful. I hope you do not mind if I send this to a friend who is grieving. Who is the author of the poem? I would like to acknowledge the person who wrote the words. Are they published? Thanks for your notes. Best wishes, A
