NEWS FROM HERE

I wonder why ODERS don’t keep their identity private like it is suggested by OD. I do because then I can write anything and everything I want. Keeping your identity private means you can write whatever you want. You can rant and rave without any reprisals. I am sure there are other places like Facebook to post your pictures and other news.  Anyhow I appreciate being anonymous so I can write anything.

Yesterday I had a very busy day. In the morning I went to the clubhouse and stayed all day. I started by going on the elliptical machine for 15 minutes. Then I went swimming for fifteen minutes. I ended up being alone in the pool so I stayed in the shallow end. Usually someone else wanders in. I know it’s not a good idea to swim alone but I wanted to get my exercise done.

Then I went to stained glass. It’s the first time my piece is coming out so good. I was there about an hour and a half. Then I went to my art class. I started by having a quick lunch. Even though I live a few minutes away I didn’t feel like walking back and forth. The painting class is interesting. She is the first art teacher here who actually teaches. It is a bit frustrating waiting for her to come around but that’s the only way she can help everyone.

Then I walked home. Luckily it didn’t rain. We did have a lot of rain yesterday. My daughter had the car and it was leaking so this morning hubby will have to take it to the garage. I had a nap, worked on my Zentangles and went to bed early.

It’s interesting! I use to love to go to a library and take out a bunch of books. Most of the time I might have read one or none but I enjoyed taking out the books. It’s been about a year that I stopped! It’s too bad because I use to enjoy it so much even though it was maybe silly.

Anyhow I am going to knit a little and then go back to bed.

Its a personal choice. For me I remain an open person and am willing to show my weaknesses and difficulties as well as my victories and delights. It shows how human and normal I am ( I hope). Also I try not to write anything about others in my diary that would cause offence to them or put anyone at risk. My entries remain mostly for OD friends only and I trust my OD friends. You choose to keep your diary ‘open’ so I understand your reservation about privacy. hugs p

I hate Facebook! I like putting pics like a big scrapbook

I guess I’m semi-anonymous. I’m willing to add any of my OD friends on FB, and most of them are on there. I think on FB we get to know each other even better, because we see sponataneous updates and images, and conversations with others. It’s a different space than a diary, naturally. So while OD friends have become real life friends, none of my real life friends are on OD, so that’s anonymous,no?

argh! I’m sorry I posted that other note three times!! OD never said it was posted! I go by the name Nicky Woodsprite to everyone EXCEPT in my workplace. Those are the only people I don’t care to divulge my personal life to! They would never guess that I go by Nicky Woodsprite, so I’m hidden from them and that’s all that matters to me! ;o) !! hugs, Nicky

I agree with you on the personal OD. I don’t want family and friends reading anything I write here. This is for me. Ryn: I got the new iPad Air. I figured might as well get the newest one because it will be outdated in 2-3 years the way Apple does things. I don’t plan on getting another one but one never knows. Your day sounds marvelous to me. I would like the art classes and the swimand even the exercise. How nice to have that all at your fingertips. I am assuming the “club house” is on the property where you live.

There are a select few who know who I really am outside of OD. These are people that have been my favs since OD was implemented and I’ve been blessed to get to meet one of my favs. A blessing I never expected but truly needed and relish the friendship. AND my family nor co-workers know anything my OD diary. Just the select few of OD Favs have joined me on FB and since I never post much on FB,it really doesn’t reveal as much as OD. You were a busy lady but an enjoyable and productive time. Glad you didn’t get rained on going home.

yeah I keep most of my OD for myself with only a few faves, many have left here anyway so I don’t get many notes anymore, just about over it all.

I got burned years ago by sharing my OD with my ex, with whom I was foolishly trying to reconnect at the time. I say I was burned because he used what he read against me and out of context, and even opened a diary (briefly) to harrass some of my favorites he felt were a challenge to him. This is why I’m nearly completely favorites-only, and why I do guard my identity as much as possible without being paranoid. I do live in a rural area so it would be easy enough for a stalker who wanted to find me to actually find me but I’m an advocate who teaches about safety planning and try to practice safety. I’m glad for the place to be open and real, and do love OD above prosebox or FB or twitter, etc. This is my home, and I do value it!

I don’t get on here very often, but I miss hearing about you. Are you on Facebook?

Also, is everybody in OD really who they say they are? Past experience says no, one must always be careful. Often there are clues, sometimes not 🙂 Other than that, I’m pretty private and friends only stuff for those I pretty much know and share more intimately with. I’ve met some pretty great people from this site, all the way from the west coast to the east cost … everywhere inbetween. Many of those friendships continue, only had one go sour a few years ago. Happy Thanksgiving.
