MY MOTHER-ok

(WRITTEN IN ’98)

OVER THE YEARS

WE HAVE SHARED ALOT

GOOD TIMES, BAD TIMES

SOMETIMES EVEN FOUGHT.

NOW YOU ARE OLD

GETTING FRAIL

IT’S UP TO ME

TO BE VERY BOLD.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TODAY?

A HUG AND A KISS

SOME VITAMINS

AND A DRINK

YOU SHOULDN’T MISS.

MOTHER I LOVE YOU

TO ME YOU ARE DEAR

AND I WILL MISS YOU

WHEN YOU ARE

NO LONGER HERE.

YOU ARE IN GOD’S HANDS

SO AM I!

WE TRAVEL TOGETHER

HAND IN HAND

TO THE MUSIC

OF OUR OWN BAND.

( I came across this when I was reading through an old journal. I read about the same issues I have now -money weight and hubby!!! Do I have to accept that I will always have these?)

I have issues like this too, and for some reason I NEVER “accept” them — I fight them because that is me.. and I somehow feel that if I don’t fight them, I might as well be dead.

It’s funny that you mention that, still unpacking for my new place, today I came across my diaries from highschool and maybe my issues have become less exaggerated but they’re still relevant for today. Freedom, independance, weight problems, depression. I can be happy now & at least say that life is better! Take care, that poem about your mother was very sweet. :O)
