MY INNER VOICE – OK

DREAMS?

AMBITIONS?

GOALS?

THE FUTURE?

What would I like to do?

A good question!

I would like to do something. But what? I would like to have a purpose in my day. I don’t want to spend it shopping, eating out, on hobbies. These are all good pastimes but not good for me IF I don’t have something else meaningful in my life.

So I can volunteer. Maybe I should look into volunteering here in Florida. I have a lot of FREE time. Too much of anything is NOT good. Of course I could start exercising………….last winter that took up a lot of time each day or at least every other day.

I think I will call an organization tomorrow and see if they need volunteers. That sounds good. On the other hand I think I will go to the Florida website and see if there is anything there.

This is the second time I have written about volunteering so I will go to the Florida website and then get out our phone book.

It’ll be neat to hear what you end up doing. I’m off work in the summers and tend to spend too much time being lazy. I’m thinking of volunteering this summer to work at one of the wildlife refuges, or do beach clean-up. Here’s hoping you have a good day and do more “inner voice listening”! hugs, Weesprite

Volunteering is something I’ve always wanted to do. And I still plan on doing it someday when my girls are a little older. I finally got the phone number of the lady to contact at the orphanage in Bnei Barak. So I’m getting closer. I think this is a wonderful idea for you and I want to hear more.

Long ago I had a brother in a rehab hospital for spinal chord injuries (he was a quadriplegic – long sad story there…). He was in and out of nursing homes and hospitals… but I got to know the other patients at the rehab hospital and spent a lot of time there. It is amazing how cheering and helping people like that made me feel good about myself! I’d definitely say try it! You’ll like it.

RYN: Nati asked me if I had a boyfriend when I was in the fifth grade. I told her I didn’t. She said then I must have been a real nerd – lol. My girls are much more popular and ‘with it’ than I was at their age.

Good ideas… both very worthy of your time! RYN: WordWax is probably much like Word Web. Here’s more info: http://www.opendiary.com/entrylist.asp?authorcode=B189697

i think that sounds like a terrific thing for you to do. I hope you find the challenge & meaning you are hoping for. My prayers are offered up for you for the right thing to come to be.

Schools always need tutors, food banks are another good place. Think of an issue that concerns you and then pick a non-profit in that area. Good for you! You won’t regret it and you’ll get as much out of it as the receivers do. RYN: Knowing and paying attention to one’s limits makes for a happier life. LOL!

I volunteered for Meals on Wheels when I wasn’t working and I enjoyed it so much. It was very rewarding for me. I’d love to be able to do it again.

Darn! Well I can never find books I want at local bookstores either, so I order from Amazon.Com. So far they’ve had EVERYTHING I’ve wanted, and they deliver fast!! So maybe you can get them from there? I hope so; I’d really love to hear what you think of “The Crone” by Barbara Walker, especially. It’s great! Hoping you’re having a good day! hugs, Weesprite

you will get from any volunteer work that you do, as much back again, if not more…its very satisfying. The key is to do something you really believe in or feel passionate about…and remember the words of Mother Theresa “works of love are always works of joy”. have a great day,

I am sure you will find volunteer work very enriching to your life. Helping others is very gratifying.

reading and just talking to someone who cannot get out should pop a halo on your head!!! People are so thankful for someone to give a crap about them. Go Ginger!!

Can we trade lives for just a few seconds? I’m sure my life would suck enough for you to say no…but finding a worthy cause for my volunteer time wouldn’t be hard for me. I can do everything from painting a wall to serving a meal. I just have no time to donate.
