MAKING SUPPER

I am making supper tonight for hubby’s family. I chose a bunch of new recipes from my cousin’s cookbook.

So far I made roasted chickpeas, soup of seven(vegies), and meat balls. I still have to make dessert, chicken, cauliflower as a substitute for potatoes, and garlic roasted carrots.

Wednesday I attended a drumming circle. It was wonderful!! I hope to make a drum one day. I hope a session will be planned soon. There will be two more sessions before I go home. I can’t wait.

I haven’t been swimming for a week. I have been too busy with other things. I plan to go tomorrow and Sunday.

This week I am fighting a cold. I am taking extra Vitamin C so hopefully it won’t get worse. I have a sore throat and my nose is running a little more than usual and I can’t catch it. LOL!

I have decided to start another diary here so I can write very PERSONAL stuff that I NEVER want anyone I know to read. I’ve only written one entry. I am not sure if I will keep it up.

Yesterday I played Mah Jongg with my  two SILS, niece and a friend. I was disappointed. My niece cannot stand the cold so she left early. We were playing at the clubhouse pool. I don’t know why they don’t want to just play here. What is the obsession with being outside??? One of my SIL was worried about her hubby. I can’t say I blame her but it put a damper on the game. I am not convinced that my other SIL really wants to play and last but not least my friend is more interested in going for coffee. We only played about an hour or so. Then we were going to go for coffee but everyone seemed to be in a rush so told them to forget it. I hope we won’t play next week. It is no fun. It feels as if everyone thinks they HAVE to play!!!!

I went to an art class on Monday. It starts with a short discussion and then meditation. Then we paint whatever. Mine looked like a red tree with branches stretching out. After we painted we hung up the paintings and everone talks about each painting. Someone, maybe the teacher said mine looked like a heart!! I explained that I had received an email from my son and I felt like my heart was breaking. It was very interesting and I look forward to going back.

Not much else. It’s been cool here. So what? Not half as cold as at home. Better go finish preparing supper.

Have a great day.

*wails in dismay!* oh, please come back and tell us what you are cooking!! I always love reading about the wonderful meals you cook! :o) !! hugs, Weesprite

You sure do a lot of interesting things! I wish we could see pictures of all that you create. It’s minus 20 here today – be glad you are in that warmth! 🙂

Having to do anything, even play, makes it into work! I’m sorry your son is breaking your heart. I guess that’s what you wrote about on your private diary.

You want to believe it’s warmer there. Here in N.B. it’s -34! Freezing. I play Majong on the computer but it is a memory matching game. What’s yours like?

What a varied and interesting week!

Yep it is real cold here, about 8 degrees, chilly! Your menu sounds delicious. My daughters are having their BFs over tonight for dinner and I am making asian salad, arroz con pollo (chicken with rice, Spanish style) and dutch apple pie and vanilla ice cream for dessert. I was going to make salmon but one guy does not like fish. I do drumming circles on occasion. I am supposed to doone next week. We are thinking of starting our own group that meets regularly. I love them.

That soup with meatballs sounds good.

Have a nice supper! (huggles)

Did you mash the cauliflower, like you do potatoes? That’s a good side dish.

roasted chickpeas can be bought in a jar over here but hard to get. My daughter sends me them occasionally…they are yummy. Hope the meal all went well. hugs P

The art class sounds very interesting! And I’m glad you are getting to take part in a drumming circle….how neat is that? :o) !! I don’t get some people’s wanting to be outside for things that are a lot simpler, done INSIDE, either. It’s like eating outdoors. WHY?? There are flies and other bugs outdoors. Plus you have to carry everything out, and then back in. Why not just eat inside at the dining room table?? Isn’t that why we have one? I don’t care that someone cooked the food on the grill. We could STILL EAT IT INSIDE!! hugs, Weesprite

ryn: We were at a restaurant and my mom had ordered mashed potatoes as her choice of potato, and there was also another pile of white stuff and it was boiled mashed cauliflowers. We called it her white dinner.
