MAJOR GRATITUDE
I AM SO VERY GRATEFUL THAT HUBBY AND I ARE WELL AND IN FLORIDA FOR THE WINTER. I KNOW I HAVE WRITTEN THIS BEFORE BUT I AM APPRECIATING EVERYTHING THIS WINTER – MUCH MORE THAN I EVER DID. I REALIZE HOW FRAGILE OUR LIVES ARE.
In the morning I go swimming. The water is so delicious. I have been spending at least an hour and a half in the pool. My aches and pains are less. Could it be because of the swimming? I don’t know and I don’t care. I just love the pool. I have been going just about every day. I have met some very interesting women even though my friends that I use to enjoy meeting are choosing to swim outdoors.
In the locker room I meet a friend who knew my friend who died. Today she was so sad and close to tears. Apparently two other people she knew recently died. One was young!!!!!!! After I left I thought I should have asked her if she needed a hug. Maybe tomorrow!~~
I got a lot done today. Everything I planned.
1. went to the library and took out a bunch of books. I just love books so even though I won’t read most of them I get such pleasure choosing them.
2. mailed a magazine to an OD friend
3. gas for the car
4. picked up pants I had shortened. I really like them so think I will go back to Bealls and try to get a few more pair.
5. Barnes and Noble – One women at the pool suggested two books but the store didn’t have them so I ordered them from Amazon. She had lived through the holocaust. She told me she was saved because she lived in a hole. She wouldn’t tell me more but she said she would loan me the video of her story. Another women was sent to Siberia!!!!!!!!!!!! One was AS A DRIVE LEAF AND THE OTHER I’LL SEE YOU AGAIN. I bought the HOBBIT. I never read it but it was mentioned in another book I read.
6. Went to the bank to deposit money. I am going to make an appointment with the manager as the bank was sold and there will be major changes!!! I am going to discuss my finances with her and see what she suggests. Maybe I can get a loan so I only have one payment a month!!!!!!! She’ll also explain how the changes will affect me as a Canadian.
7. Had lunch at FIRST WATCH – yummy pancakes
8. SCRAPBOOK STORE – the young salesgirl gave me some discounts on everything I bought. She explained to me that the owner has seven children! She buys a lot of supplies which don’t sell. Apparently the owner owns about seven KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN. She told the salesgirl she can do whatever she wants!!!!!!!!
9. FESTIVAL FLEA MARKET – returned the stuff I bought for the football party as ours was cancelled. I went to the AS SEEN ON TV. I bought the INSTAHANG. I sure hope it works!!!!!
10. Finally I went to Michaels. I wanted to return the cassettes I bought for the Cricut. The manager, a young man, explained to me they should work so I will give then another try.
I came home exhausted. I was going to have a nap but hubby came home starving so I made an early supper. He went to play golf and apparently there is no time to eat!!!!!!!
After supper we went to a show at the clubhouse. It was a magician which I didn’t enjoy at all. I had seen all the acts performed before.
Finally we went out for coffee with two other couples. Normally my hubby refuses to go but the show ended early so we went to Dunkin. I had a half a donut and coffee. We had pleasant time and now I guess I should get to sleep. Tomorrow is another day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes swimming is a very effective exercise for joint pain. too bad more people couldn’t enjoy the pool, they would feel better.

1/2 a donut? You have TREMENDOUS self-discipline 🙂 It is so good to read you are enjoying your time in Florida. I think the pool is helping with not only your physical pains, but also maybe a bit with some of the depression you were experiencing a few months ago? I know that exercise is often one of the first things suggested to help increase the body’s production of all the ‘feel good’ hormones. Did I understand correctly? Is one of the books you mentioned the story of the woman at the pool who survived the holocaust?

You packed a lot into your day. The books you mention sound interesting. Best wishes, A

i would love an indoor warm pool to be in for about 90 minutes a day. it’s great exercise for old joints. i’m glad you are having fun this winter in florida. i have the hobbit and i really need to sit down and read it and the trilogy of the rings. there’s just so much to read and not enough time to read it all! i wish i could spend all my time reading or clone myself and one self would do nothingbut read. take care,

I wish I could go swimming, I always loved it but they have closed all the pools here. Budget cuts is what they say. This city has sure changed the last couple years. Have a wonderful day. Love,

RYN: I think you might like When Love’s at Home. It’s the second book in the Embracing Love Trilogy, but you don’t need to read the first book to jumo right ino the middle story. It’s about Meg and Bobby and two young runaway boys they end adopting. Several people have told me it’s their favorite because of its heartwarming nature.
