IT WAS WONDERFUL

We had a wonderful, fantastic Hanukah Party. Sorry you all couldn’t be here to help us celebrate the fourth night of Hanukah!!!!

Someone asked for the recipe for potato pancakes. I don’t use a very specific recipe. I grate the potatoes in my Cuisinart. I add some eggs and an onion. Then I add some bread crumbs of matzo meal to make it a little thick. I try NOT to add too much meal or bread crumbs as I want it to be mostly potato. Then of course I fry them in oil. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!! I am sure you can find many recipes online. One place you can look is at my cousin’s web site – gourmania.com.

Everyone arrived at 6:30. WE STARTED BY SERVING DRINKS AND LATKES which my daughter made as they arrived. Hubbys erved them drinks. I tried to relax but hubby rushed everything. I use to but now I like to give people time to think and talk etc. We served appetizers. Then lit the candles. Then I would have waited for the other latkes to warm up but hubby rushed so the latkes were cold! We served the deli. Men sat in back two rooms and women in the living room. In this small condo there was plenty of room.

One of my friends played the accordion. Everyone sang. I read a poem called The Night Before Hanukah.

We served dessert. My friend and I made dessert in shot glasses. They looked so pretty and were a HIT!! I have some left for Friday night but will have to make more. I have hubby’s family coming. I have plenty of left overs so it should be easy!

I was surprised that so many people were free. Anyhow I think I better get to bed. Tomorrow’s another day.

WHY DOES THE FONT KEEP CHANGING??????

It sounds like you had a great time and I really want to try the potato pancakes and see if my kids would like them or not. Do you serve them with anything on them? What kind of dessert did you make?

sounds like you had so delicious food. –I didn’t think it was too sad, but I guess thats because I’m used to my life & that was a good day in my life.

My best friend from 3rd grade through high school was Jewish. I always tried to be hanging around her house at dinner time — especially during Hanakah — ’cause her mother was such a good cook. I remember the latkes and lots of other good food I’d never tasted before. Happy Hanakah to you and yours!
