GRATITUDE
IT’S FREEZING HERE BUT THE TRAILER IS NICE AND WARM.
I can’t believe it. Last night we went to our friend’s for supper. I was doing my knitting. A friend asked me to look at it. Would you believe it? She told me it was all wrong. The tension was wrong. The sweater I was making for my grandson, size 2, was much too big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What could I do? I ripped the whole thing. Maybe I just have to give up on my knitting but I can’t. Yesterday I went to a special store where the wool was sold by the pound and I spent 60. So I have to keep on knitting!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s freezing here today. I don’t feel like taking a shower but I must. Then I want to go to town to the Dollar store. They are selling DVD’s of old shows for ONE DOLLAR! I LOVE LUCY etc.

A good thing to do before beginning a garment is to knit a square according to the tension guide in the pattern. It usually tells you there should be a certain number of stitiches in an inch. If yours is too big, just use smaller needles…

I am sorry you fell for such a tactic that was meant to point out how “good” I am and how well I can bring you down to the level I feel about myself. At least your friend only gave you her opinion about your knitting. My MIL once looked at something I had crocheted and SHE ripped it apart, literally. She said I had the stitch wrong. Don’t be disheartened. Patrisha is right. Do a little test swatch before you begin the garment. If it’s too big your grandchild can save it for later.
