HAPPINESS
I am not sure what happiness is.
Is it the absence of problems?
Is it when things are going well?
Is it an attitude of gratitude?
I keep thinking that one day I’ll look back at this time in my life and realize it was the best of times.
Hubby and I am relatively well.
We have enough of everything we need.
Our kids are well.
Happy? How does one show happiness?
Is it through laughter?
I know I am very content today.
Even though my body is aching.
I am going to work with a friend on my eggs – decorating them.
It is very relaxing!
Tonight we play bridge. Tomorrow I have an art class.
Yesterday I went shopping for things I both needed and didn’t need.
That makes me happy. I wish shopping didn’t make me so happy but I went to the dollar store so didn’t spend too much.
So happiness? Is it the absence of problems or is it the way we deal with our problems?
We can always moan and groan when we have a problem.
OR
We can just work through it knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel even though it may not look like there is one.
So for today I am going to be "happy" and hope you will be too.
I think I have come to the conclusion that happiness is not necessarily the absence of problems, we are always going to have problems. Rather it is how we face those problems and deal with them. Do we see the problem as a burden or a chance to grow and learn? I am choosing to see all my problems as a chance to grow and learn. And to be grateful for what I’ve got.

I like your expression, “attitude of gratitude”!

for me, happiness is peace of mind and spirit. gratitude is important too….but only a manifestation of our inner self and general attitude. hugs P

I think happiness is how we react to the problems we face. It’s being content in your life despite that challenges you face; it’s an appreciation for the small, “everyday” things. I’m going to try to start working through problems knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Awesome, awesome entry! And I agree w/the last note you left me- I think people forget you when you movebecause they are so absorbed in their own lives. Thankfully I’m able to stay in touch with a few good friends and see them fairly often. I’m lucky that I’m just a short distance away instead of many hours.

I think happiness IS a choice, but I also think there is a difference in happiness and joy. Joy doesn’t depend on your circumstances.
