GOOD FRIENDS

The other day my friend said she wasn’t a good friend. I didn’t say anything but as I think about it I realize she is right. SHE IS NOT A GOOD FRIEND!!!!!!!!!
Actually I guess it is not her fault.
She works every morning.
She is supporting herself and her son.
She is fighting with her ex about alimony.
BUT SHE IS TOO BUSY TO BE A FRIEND AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!
I FEEL SAD ABOUT IT BUT THAT’S THE TRUTH.
She is busy cleaning her house.
She is busy preparing perfect meals for her son who is over twenty, has a degree but no JOB!!!!!!
She is just too busy!
I never thought about it until she said it.
I think she is killing herself. Maybe she needs to do it for money but she is just TOO BUSY!!!!!!!!!!
I will no longer bother with her. I’m not saying that I won’t be her friend but I won’t depend on her for friendship. It’s sad but what good is she if she is constantly busy!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t think I have seen her since I came back from Florida!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In a way I feel sorry for her as she is a slave to her house and her son. She doesn’t do a thing for herself. Even if she goes for a hairdo it is because she wants to look good at work. Nothing wrong with that but she doesn’t relax at all!!!!!!!!!!
Lately she has had a sore throat and can hardly talk. I guess that’s why I haven’t heard from her for a few days.
I still wish I could find a friend who shares my interests and who is available.

I have the same problem, all the women I used to be friends with are all too busy to go out and do anything. I am busy too but I try and make time for myself to go out and have fun once in a while. I would hate being a slave to my house.

I can relate; except I am often the too busy one. Some things just take priority unfortunately,a nd there aren’t enough hours in a day. not that its fair 🙁 but its good you are not completely cutting her out for good, its ppl like her that NEED friends to remind them to breath once in a while 🙂

i know what you mean. my best friends… they all live in other states so i never get to do anything with them. i call them every weekend. that’s the only contact i have with them. i haven’t made any new friends here in the 13 years i’ve lived here. my daughter and blake are my best friends here. it’s sad that friends are so hard to make. take care,

Well, to look at my house one would not think I’m too busy to be a friend, but I know I’m not a good friend because of priorities. I liked this entry, since it made me think. I have friends who are in seasons of being too busy, but we usually find our way. It’s sad when it just can’t work, though.
