GETTING TOO CLOSE

It is getting too close for comfort. We move in exactly six days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday I spoke to my eldest son and he said he will miss the house!!!!!!!!! I think we are all a little emotional about selling our home of over thirty years. I go through stages when I am very teary. The condo does not yet feel like home of course.
Tomorrow I am going over early in the morning. The painting should be all finished!!!!!!!!
The electrician is coming to install the cooktop.
Our kitchen set is being delivered between nine to five. I don’t know why they can’t pinpoint the time closer. I’m excited to see how it will look.
I will do the washing and unpack kitchen boxes. I already loaded hubby’s car. I changed the dish soap I had to HE! I had my son take the TIDE and bring it to Toronto when he goes tomorrow. He’s going for my nephew’s engagement party. I’m glad they only invited the kids.
I packed a lot of boxes yesterday and even some clothes. Hubby has been very busy with his cars. At night we went out for supper with our friends. After so many years we are finally relaxing with each other and having fun!
So I think I’ll read some of your entries and then crawl back into bed.

I’m sure it’s hard to say goodbye to so many memories in that house. But you will be free to make new ones without all the work of the house dragging you down.

I bet that a month from now you will feel the “freeness” of not being tied down to the house any longer. Yes, it holds many memories, but your home is wherever you are. YOU make a house a home and YOU will make the condo your home, too. Be gentle with yourself as you move through this time of transition. I’ll be thinking of you and your hubby.

Changes are so hard – I know how that feels. Be kind to yourself and realize that it will take awhile to feel like it is home– maybe quite awhile. Good luck with all you have to do. Good for you for tackling this move while you are still “young enough” to get through it!
