GETTING FRUSTRATED -OK

I decided to go into business since I have always wanted to make money. The web address is http://www.incomeathome.com. It was announced on the Dr. Laura program. As I admire her I decided to call and get started.
I didn’t know the company was HERBALIFE.
I didn’t know how much time is involved.
I didn’t know how much money is involved. If I had money I wouldn’t need to go into business. So far I invested 149, maybe 39 and another 100. Now they want me to order products for over 100. I wonder if I will be able to move ahead if I refuse. As I said before if I had money I wouldn’t need to go into business. How come they don’t realize that and finance us? I think that would make more sense. They wanted me to become a sponsor. Sure I would make a lot more money FASTER but I would have to invest about 4000. Now if I had that much money as I said already I wouldn’t need to go into business. My sponsor’s mentor suggested I put the amount on two VISAS!!!! I am going into business to pay off my VISAS! I will speak to my sponsor tomorrow. Maybe I’ll send her an email.
I am just about ready for my party. The tree is decorated and the furniture is rearranged. I still have to set the tables, peel the potatoes for the potato latkes etc. I will be happy when it’s over as I am so nervous until the people start coming. I have a list of what I have to do tomorrow and also for the order of what we will do at the party.
I went swimming today. It was wonderful except for the women who were so noisy. They were having fun but I go there to swim and usually it is very peaceful.
Tonight we went to Olive Garden for supper. I had salad and chicken marsala – very yummy.
So another night is done. Time to go to sleep as I have a big day ahead.
We decided to make the family Hanukah party next Friday which is the last day of Hanukah. Hubby wants a traditonal Friday night supper so I will make a chicken soup, buy barbecue chickens, make mocked chopped liver and a salad. Potato latkes of course. There will be about 17 people. My SIL is making the calls. I might also invite my cousin who is arriving in Florida tomorrow.
So that’s it. Maybe I’ll read some of your entries……………..

Thanks for your note! There’s some comfort in knowing other people go through the same thing with their kids, anyhow. Re: Herbalife and other “at home businesses”….yea, I’ve attended a few meetings in my lifetime where they try to get you to get involved in stuff like that (Amway is another one!) and it seems to ALWAYS require putting out a lot of money! I think those things are just for rich people who want to get richer. They’re sure not for people who really need money!! hugs, Weesprite

i took herbal life for a month. i never spent more time in the bathroom than i did that month. didn’t take it after that month. didn’t help me lose weight, either. i would love to go swimming. that would mean it’s nice and warm. take care,

I did Herbalife for a while and I actually did lose a lot of weight at one point, but as soon as you go off it, you gain it all back and then some. The guy was so annoying, he was trying to get me to sell it. I kept saying NO!! but he wouldn’t take no for an answer, so obnoxious. If you want to do a home business, why don’t you create a website and sell your artwork and crafts online. Itwon’t cost you much to start up, you can make your website cheaply at wix.com. They take you through it step by step. It is easy. Just an idea.

ryn: my daughters are ages 22,19 and 15. We really do have fun when we are all together! Still no Kindle yet, I want it NOW!!!

I have to catch up on backreading…but since you mentioned swimming, does that mean you’ve arrived in Florida?

be aware that many such organisations are run as a kind of pyramid scheme and only a few at the top actually make any money. I have heard of this company and have a feeling its one of them. hugs P

What is in mock chopped liver?

if you sell avon the investment is cheaper , only about 20 dollars and you don’t have to buy anything. I used to sell it years ago. but now, even if you don’t sell , when you buy avon for yourself, they have vitamoins, clothingetc, sneakers, etc, everything..you still get your discount. not sure how much. I haven’t actually sold anything but signed up and then didn’t have time to do it,due to the moving etc, and death in family last year .

when a company keeps asking you to invest your money, and doesn’t even say their name upfront, they just don’t sound legit. have heard of herb life but not heard of anyone making any money from it.

my dad lost a bunch of money on herbalife when i was a wee little tot. i can’t believe they’re still around, scamming people out of their hard-earned cash.

saw you on the front page. I’ve done it and lost money I wish you success with it.

It’s a scam. Dr. Laura is pushing it, huh? ~~~ Happy holidays to all.

Any good home based business will require you to invest a small amount of money, but unfortunately, even bad home based business require this simply so they can get your money. Most home-based business require a lot of networking. Many require you to sell a product that not everyone wants, and if they do, chances are they may be able to find it somewhere else for cheaper. The best home based business is selling items you make or gather inexpensively (like on discount then sell on ebay) or offering a service… something YOU do, so you aren’t paying into someone else’s pocket. Plus, when it’s your own, you’re more passionate about it! 🙂

open up a free website at freeservers.com and sell your artwork there. you can add your grandkids art also. it’s a nice site for any type of hobby business or whatever. itiswelljournal

As a fellow business owner, I caution you about pyramid scheme type business opportunities. They are pushy and will recruit anyone just to make a few more dollars! It’s hard to be successful in a business like that! I read some of your other noters and it sounds like you are an artist…try selling your stuff on Etsy.com. That site is AWESOME and many people, including celebrities, shop there!

It’s a site for all things handmade and ONLY handmade. I love it 🙂 I’ve always tried to start up businesses and realized that the most rewarding one was the one where I’m offering my own product(service in my case). It’s more personal and less awkward when trying to sell to clients and customers. I hope that whatever you choose to do you become sucessful and make lots of money!! Good luck 🙂

Oh, and my dad took Herbal Life for awhile… I’m not sure if he lost the weight because of that but I do know that shortly after he started taking it, he had a large amount of problems and was diagnosed with Diabetes. Probably a coincidence but it’s kinda scary! He stopped taking it while taking his diabetes medication and returned back to normal, thank God. Do some research, check the web…

…for anyone mentioning their experience with working for Herbalife. I’m sorry, I just really think it’s a scam. If they really believed in their product, they wouldn’t constantly ask you to invest more and more money into it. I bet they make money off their “distributors” rather than the product. Just do your research and educate yourself before you lose anymore money.

I’m doing the Herbalife thing. I’m still reserving judgment. I try not to be pushy, so I frustrate the lady over me. But you just keep investing and investing and not getting much back on my dollar.

Any supposed online business that asks you to pay into it is a scam,Most likely you’ll keep investing and wont get much if anything back in the long run.

Any “job” or “opportunity” where you have to pay money to get money is called a SCAM.

Random noter.. you’re better off hitting the local Goodwill or thrift store, buying stuff cheap, and then reselling it on eBay. Last Christmas, I bought a cap gun for $4 at a Goodwill and resold it for over $300 on Ebay.
