FRUSTRATING DAY – ok
FRUSTRATING DAY
Thursday, January 13, 2005
So the day started out ok. I went to do my exercise at the clubhouse. Ten minutes on the stationery bike and 20 on the treadmill. Monday I will increase the time on both.
It’s very humid today. YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then the frustration and anger started. I went with my sister-in-law to take our cousin and her friend out for lunch. Well I don’t like this cousin very much – actually it’s hubby’s cousin. She’s a very unhappy woman even though she has a daughter who does everything in her power to help her and keep her happy. Money is NO object.
Well yesterday there was a concert. Cousin has a very close friend who she is with most of the time. This woman has NOONE in the world. She lost both her husband and son of 52. She is wonderful – so positive.
Back to the concert. Cousin went with a few friends by car and there was no room for friend. SHE LEFT HER BEST FRIEND TO SIT ALONE AT HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Understand that daughter has provided a DRIVER for her mother. The woman just has to call. Daughter pays and everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So cousin is too stubborn or stupid to call and take her friend. Can you believe????????????????????
Next I went to buy toys for my grandson. I chose wonderful toys only to find out that my VISA was at the limit so I left everything. OK! I’ll live.
ICING ON THE CAKE! I went to Borders – browsed through all the books, chose some and went to the cash. When I got there I saw the Entertainment books. I called my friend to see if she wanted one. She did but then she called her other friend. SO I DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR EVERYTHING. I had to give back some of the books I wanted. To top it off the Entertainment books were five dollars more than I paid for mine so I will probably have to return them. OY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a headache!
it proves the old cliche’ that money doesn’t buy happiness! Sad she treats her friend so badly, but my guess is that the unhappiness could actually be an illness and that she needs professional help in dealing with it. Depression is an acknowledged illness. Maybe you can convince her daughter to talk her into counselling or to see a GP. hugs

it amazes me on how incredibly selfish some people are!! She will be a lonely person if she treats her friends like that!

I feel sorry for your cousin’s friend. But probably she had a better time staying home than your cousin had, going out…. that’s the way it is with positive people versus negative people. That really sucks about your Visa card. Mine is currently maxed out as well. *sigh* I hope today is a much better day for you! hugs, Weesprite

My mother wrote a wonderful poem dealing with this issue. I’ll see if I can find it and put it on here.

TWO PATHS “Growing old is Hell,” one person moaned, “But it need not be,” her friend intoned. (Her cares are no more than mine, she thought, Though mine don’t make me so distraught.) One collects money with cunning and greed, One gives herself to whatever the need. Both travel along toward the end of the day,
