EXHAUSTED-ok

Hi everyone,

This is just a short note from your very exhausted friend. A few days ago I typed a very long entry and before I could save it my time was up on the computer. Let me tell you I was very upset. I will not repeat my entry because using the internet at this hotel is very expensive.

We are still in Jerusalem having a wonderful time. Today we were on a tour of the tunnels near the Western Wall in the Old City. For lunch we went to a wonderful kibbutz for lunch.

Yesterday was Remembrance Day for the over 20,000 soldiers that have died in Israel since the beginning of the State. Can you believe it?????? At 11 o’clock in the morning a siren went off. ALL TRAFFIC STOPS! PEOPLE GET OUT OF THEIR CARS and buses etc. AND STAND BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR ABOUT TWO MINUTES. Where ever people are they stop what they are doing.

So yesterday was REMEMBRANCE DAY and today was the birthday of ISRAEL. 60 years old!!!!!!!! The people go from crying and despair over lost family members to joy and happiness because of Israel’s birthday! It’s was a truly amazing experience to watch all the services and then the celebrations!

Tomorrow we are off to Tiberius until Monday and then most people are going home. Hubby and I are staying an extra week. Hopefully the internet will be cheaper next week so I can get online more often.

Take care friends. Hope you are all well.

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Stay safe over there.

Yayyyy for Israel. I am a big admirer and supporter! Having a country like that takes some sacrifice and it is worth it in the end… even though people die. I hope that the US can always remember that.

What a wonderful and interesting trip you are having, feel a bit jealous….learning so much through your trip. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all countries did the same thing to honor their military in that manner. Hope the rest of the trip is as interesting and enjoyable for you…..huggs

What an emotional trip! I hope you enjoy the rest of it!
