DECISIONS? DECISIONS?
I need to make a decision about what I am going to do tomorrow. I thought my day was all planned out but now I found out that we have a condo meeting in the morning. I have art in the morning. I missed my last class because we were on the cruise. I have thought about what I want to paint. I DON’T WANT TO GO TO THE MEETING. Hubby can go because his golf is in the afternoon. So I am not sure. I told hubby we would discuss it in the morning.
I also wanted to get back into swimming before the art. I don’t mind missing that.
Then in the afternoon I have messages to do: food to buy etc. My niece is having twins so I want to find pictures I can do in three d. Michaels might have calendars I could use.
Anyhow why I think I should attend the meeting is because of the "crawling" creatures we have living with us. I am so FEDUP! Nothing seems to deter them. I have stuff sprayed by the company. I put boric acid around. I kill each one I see. There are probably loads I don’t see while we’re sleeping etc. I told hubby he can bring it up at the meeting but he doesn’t want everyone to know we have cockroaches or whatever they are. I don’t care because there is no way we are the only ones. How would the bugs know to stay only in our condo?
So I guess we’ll sleep on it. Probably it is important so I should give up my art. I guess that’s what I will have to do. One company suggested we fumigate the place before me go home. When we return we would have to wash everything. OY!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know if that means only the dishes or all the clothes, towels etc etc.
IT’s so annoying and upsetting but I guess I will do whatever it takes and if that doesn’t work we’ll have to move.
I guess I have made my decision. If hubby will let me bring it up I’ll go to the meeting unless he agrees to bring it up himself. I suggested he just talk about ants. That’s not as embarrassing although I know the cockroaches are NOT MY FAULT!
I hope one of you brings it up. If I were at a meeting like that someone complained about cockroaches, I wouldn’t think of it as their fault at all. What an awful problem to have to deal with!

RYN: I will be living at my daughter’s place until I find somewhere, however long it takes. Cockroaches may require an exterminator to be rid of, but ants usually only turn up if food is left around or they need water. Trouble is with ants, some people spray their outside habitat so that brings ants inside too. If benches are wiped clean and they don’t have a reason to come inside, they probably won’t. But cockroaches … yikes…I can’t stand them either. good luck. hugs p

I feel for ya! Cockroaches are disgusting. But you’re right; you can’t be the only person there who has them. If everyone is too embarrassed to mention them, though, nothing will ever get done about them! The whole place needs to be taken care of by an exterminator, cuz if you are the only people who fumigate, roaches from other condos will just end up migrating over to yours before long and you’ll have the problem all over again. Ugh! hugs, Nicky

cockroaches are one of the main reasons i am glad i don’t live in florida anymore. if they are in one condo you can bet your bottom dollar that they are in the other ones. those cockroaches were around before the dawn of time and will be here when there are no more humans on earth. somebody has to mention them. take care,

Yes, they must be mentioned to get any action taken. I hope your husband will do the right thing and address the issue at the meeting!

Many years ago I lived south of Atanta GA. We had these horrible bugs that looked like roaches but the exterminator called them palmetto bugs. He also told me that they were 100 times worst in Florida. I was in an apartment & he had to treat/spray the entire building. Do you have palmetto bugs or roaches? Whatever, I’d call them palmetto bugs at the meeting!

Hope the termite issues is addressed and a solution decided.

We had problems with bedbugs in our apartment complex, I think they are under control. We used heat to kill them. Cockroaches don’t sound fun either. I don’t have diabeties, but I know when my blood sugar level drops.

I think Ragdoll has a good idea, call them Palmetto Bugs. But don’t call them ants, If you get your place treated for ants you will still have roa.., Palmetto Bugs. 🙂

Don’t step on them to kill them. I have read that if you step on a pregnant female you will collect the eggs on the bottom of your shoe and they will still hatch. I don’t know if that’s true or not but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
