DEAR FRIEND
My dear friend,
I have so much I want to say to you but I realize it’s my two cents. I’ve been known to be wrong. It’s only my opinion!
Please sell your large house.
You spend all your time, money and energy on that house. To what end?
You spend too much energy on that house. You spend money on cleaning ladies. Today I walked to your front door. Their were bottles lying on a chair for recycling. WHY? You spent so much on flowers etc. to make your house look presentable.
You spend too much energy on your son. He sits home day after day after day – not working even though he has two degrees. You went out to buy him fresh rolls. WHAT?????????? Send him!!!!!!! He’s a young, strong boy! What a waste of a life. I have NO solution. I just know that it is so sad. I am not one to talk because my son was doing the same thing. Staying at home by himself with no job and very few friends. How sad!
You are looking for condos. You will find one eventually. BUT clean out your house. You have stuff from day one. You wanted me to help but I guess you realize that I would encourage you to throw most things out.
I am sad that you are too busy for me. You run around buying chicken on sale and then you have to clean it! I don’t know what you clean but I know it consumes your life. YOU HAVE A CLEANING LADY TWICE A WEEK. Your house is still upside down. For me it’s a waste of time and money. I guess we have different values.
It’s summer and we don’t even get a chance to get together. You’ll soon be back at work and I’ll be in Florida.
You are constantly whining and complaining about what you eat. You eat too much. This is no good for you. STOP WHINING AND ALLOW YOURSELF TO LIVE AND ENJOY! LIFE IS TOO SHORT.
So my friend I thought you would move into my building but today you went to look at condos in another building. What can I say? NOTHING!!!!
Take care. Be well and call when you aren’t too busy with STUFF.
Ah… OD is a good place to write these kinds of letters and get it out of your system! 🙂

She has her life to live and you have yours…what can I say, not everyone is compatible.

I decided last year that I would own my house rather than allowing my house to own me. I have, since then, tried to give away a bag of ‘stuff’ every week–books, clothes, whatever. When I feel hesitant about throwing something in the garbage, I remember what a woman on another blog said about decluttering, “I refuse to be held hostage by a fondue pot.”
