BEING A SENIOR
Being a senior can be a challenge and a lot of fun. It is a time when you reap the rewards from what you have sewn all your life. It can be a time of amazing freedom and growth. Being older usually means you can be your own person. You don’t have to impress anybody. Hopefully you are smart enough to realize what is and what isn’t important. There are so many things that are important to us when we are younger. Now we realize that the main thing is health. Without good health we are NOTHING. Money can’t but health, peace of mind or friends.
As a senior you have lots of free time which can be used for many different things. Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to the community. Hobbies are another way to spend time. Even if you never picked up a brush or piece of clay you can do it as a senior. Usually you are past caring what others think. After all there are millions of people in the world and everyone has their own opinion. None are right or wrong but just opinions. Why should it matter if Sally says she doesn’t like my painting. Probably Bill will!
One of the best things about being a senior is GRANDCHILDREN. There is nothing better than a little one running towards you with their arms outstretched yelling BUBBY or Grandpa. Cherish these times. Spend as much time as you can with your grandchildren. These times are so precious. Share with them your stories of growing up. Babysit as often as you can. Take them to the park. Share a meal, a book.
ENJOY! APPRECIATE! RELISH IN THE DAY!
On the other hand seniors do have their challenges which are not easy to cope with.
Their friends are getting old, sick and frail.
The same thing is happening to them and their spouse.
The threat of death can be overwhelming.
Overcome all this negativity by keeping busy and taking one day at a time. After all that is all we have. The present moment. That is why it is called the present.
WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HEALTHY AND HAPPY DAY ALONE OR WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

🙂 This is what being a senior should be about. I get annoyed when families distance themselves…it doesn’t make sense
