AUSTRALIA THE MOVIE

We just came back from seeing the movie Australia. It was amazing. I really enjoyed it and didn’t find the three hours long. The little boy is so CUTE!!!!!!!!!

The end where they(Japanese) were bombing the city was very upsetting. Again I want to know how and why human beings do that to each other???????????????????

I would highly recommend this movie. It shows you the country, the influence of the British and the lifestyle of the Australians at the beginning of their country.

What bothers me after seeing the movie is realizing the influence that the British, US and other countries have on countries they invade and rule. Why do they think their way of life is the best and only way? It isn’t and it is very sad to see how these countries "hurt" the populations of the countries they conquered.

Oh, I saw it here in my home city in Australia yesterday! What a world-wide audience film has! Yes, Nullah (Brandon Waters) has the most glorious eyes, doesn’t he, and a delightful face. The Whites’ treatment of our Aborigines over the years is a source of great shame, as, for the US, is the treatment of slaves and, later, African-Americans. In both countries (and most others) people believed inwhite supremacy; most of that time never questioned those values. One of the best parts of the film, for me, was the acknowledgement that our Prime Minister had made a formal apology for the Stolen Generation – but it didn’t come till this year.

I want to see that movie too, when it gets here. Killing? People still do it…. even in Middle East. It comes down to ignorance and fear. hugs P

I’ve seen the previews. It does look amazing. Thanks for the review.

I havent seen it yet but am looking forward to seeing it soon. A lot of it was filmed not far from where I live … about 300km south of me. The cinematography looks majestic.

Did it blow you away that they were still taking kids away from the Aborigines until 1973… that killed me.

Would love to see it. Yes, the influences are devestating and cruel. The worst is, nobody cares until it suits them, and that’s normally too late for the indigenous populations.
