AN EXCITING DAY AND NIGHT

I was busy all day with happy things. It was a wonderful, hot and sunny day in Florida. I started off by going swimming in the indoor pool at the clubhouse. My friends were not there or were swimming in the outdoor pool. I am just too afraid to stay out in the sun! Even with suntan lotion. I know there is special clothes you can buy to protect yourself against the sun. I have to go to the SPORTS store and see what they have. Anyhow I swam for an hour. Then I came home, had lunch and went to an art show in West Palm Beach. A cousin and her friend came with. It was a wonderful art show. I can’t believe how creative people are!
The reason I went was an article in the newspaper. It described an artist who uses eye glasses to create paintings. The three paintings were of the Israeli flag. The front of each painting was eye glasses. Behind the glasses were different pictures and words. He had one that was devoted to the Holocaust. The other was how Israel is today and the third was clear. It was suppose to encourage you to dream of the future – of your life and Israel. Fascinating!
Another artist had designed some type of box out of clear plastic. It could have been glass but I don’t think so. It was a small box. Inside there was a woman swimming. You would swear she was real. She kept swimming constantly. It was fascinating to watch. There was a lot of glass art, a lot of abstract art etc. AMAZING STUFF!
Tonight we went to hear Martin Dube. A wonderful entertainer. If you’re interested you can look him up on You Tube. He’s a French singer from Montreal. Most of the crowd was from Montreal and the surrounding areas. Everyone expected him to sing more French but apparently when he was here last year and sang a lot of French songs people in the audience left. Can you imagine???????? How small minded can they be? There are more and more French people moving into our complex. They are wonderful people and have a lot of "joie de vive." They organize all kinds of French activities and have FUN!!!!!!!! I wish I spoke more French. Every winter I decide to go home and learn French over the summer but it never happens.
Anyhow now we’re home. Hubby is already in bed and I will be joining him in a new minutes.
Have a HEALTHY day and night.

I wish I could learn a second language, but I am linguistically challenged! I’ve lived in El Paso and coudln’t pick up Spanish, and after almost 6 years in Germany, I could only speak very basic phrases.

Get the Rosetta Stone language program to learn French, I heard it was the best. I would like to relearn Italian, I spoke it as a child but lost it over the years. I wonder if it is like riding a bike?

ryn—i wouldn’t mind not sleeping at night if i could sleep until whenever in the a.m., but when you have to be at work at 8, it can be hard, going back to sleep at 4 A.M.!

RYN: Chili sounds yummy! I simply saute an onion in a little bit of olive oil, then add garlic (yum!). When the onion is almost caramelized, I add the beans and mix it all up together. It has such a great flavor. I can eat it just like that, but tonight I placed it inside a flour tortilla to make a bean burrito. It seems that everything I make begins with onion and garlic. =)

That was very rude of people to just get up and leave in the middle of the concert! People’s rudeness astounds me at times. I would like to see that small box with the woman swimming in it! hugs, Nicky

ryn: thank you! I got them (plain ‘ol brown) from JoAnn Fabrics for just $2.99! Only took about an hour for me to decorate all three. It’s super easy 🙂

It’s great to be busy and having a good time. I can’t stand the inconsiderate during things like. It’s disruptive to everyone who is trying to enjoy. RYN; I definitely believe that is one reason the divorce rate is so high; people give into the physical.

Swimming sounds like fun. Didn’t realize it was that nice out this time of the year there. Also, the art sounds fascinating! ~Anna
