A WONDERFUL LLL EVENING – OK

 Last night I went to one of my friend’s seventieth birthday party. It’s so hard to believe she is that old! We were about fourteen very old friends who have each gone down a different path. It was a lot of fun to catch up on each other’s families. Many are grandmothers by now. Many are into alternative medicine. One suggested a homeopathic remedy for HiNi. I think I will try it. I will call tomorrow to see if the store has it and how much it costs. One of the women lead a drum circle so look forward to joining that when I return from Florida.
I was disappointed that a few friends didn’t come. One just doesn’t show up and we never know why. Last time I talked to her she promised to get together and have a long talk but she never called. Another is busy with her hubby and can’t do anything he doesn’t approve of. Say what???? It’s a shame as we only meet every few years. Surely she can get permission to meet us once in awhile?????
Anyhow I had a great time, took many pictures and now have to mail them to my friends.
I was disappointed that I couldn’t spend more time with my birthday friend but she was visiting her daughter here. Her husband was also with her and her grandchildren came with their mother from Toronto so she was busy with them. She is from Philadelphia and I was looking forward to stopping there on the way to Florida but can’t because I will be traveling with my daughter.
In the end I took home one of the women. She seems to be a sad case. She divorced many years ago. According to her, her two sons will have nothing to do with her. I only have her side of the story but would love to hear the son’s side. She lives alone in a room, does some private work etc.
Another woman talked about dating again. She lost her husband about two years ago. She talked about how it was to fall in love after a long marriage. It’s over now and I suggested that’s what happens to marriages today. Love, sex and goodbye!
I arrived home after 11. I tried to sleep but couldn’t so packed my overnight bag and one other valise.

I still have to pack my jewellery, craft supplies etc.

Tomorrow I have some calls to make.
1. Cancel newspaper
2. Put the phone to sleep or at least take off all the extra features so our bill will be less for the few months we’re away.
3. Do the same with our internet service.

My hubby is planning to order the IPHONE so will have to go pick it up.
I planned to go out for lunch or something with a friend tomorrow. I’m not sure if I’ll go as I think my cleaning lady wants me to make onion soup for lunch. I’ll have to call my friend in the morning.
I also have to wrap my gradchildren’s Hanukah presents. Then I have to call my grandson’s mother to see when I can drop off the presents. I’d like to give my grandson one more hug before I leave.
So I have two more very busy days ahead. Time to get some more sleep I hope.
