A WONDERFUL DAY

Today was a very special and hectic day. I picked up my two grandsons at 12. It was their last day of school. Of course they were all excited. We went to McDonalds for lunch. I think their whole school was there!!! They ate lunch and played in the park for awhile.
Then we had to decide what to do next. Well when I picked them up they told me they were not allowed to buy anything. SAY WHAT??? Anyhow while we were at McDonald’s I received an email from my son telling me where the store was that sold WACKY CARDS! So I figured I had permission to buy them cards. It was his girlfriend who can’t stand me buying them things. She feels they only enjoy going with me because I buy them stuff. I do! So what?? What else are BUBBIES for? I don’t buy every time but most of the time.
Anyhow just as we were walking over to the store we met my grandson’s mother!!!!!!! We were very excited to see her. What a coincidence. I asked her for a hug which she gave willingly. If you have been reading my diary you will remember that I wrote her a nasty email as I was upset with her. We sort of made up but I’m not sure she will ever feel the same about me. I did apologize. Anyhow after buying Wacky cards we drove to the arcade. We spent some time there. Then the question was what to do next. We still had a couple of hours. They didn’t like any of my suggestions so I made a decision. We drove to the mountain in the middle of the city. I showed my grandsons the city from the lookout on the mountain. It was the first time for my "adopted" grandson. I showed him the St. Joseph Shrine which is huge and famous. There are lots of stairs which some people climb up on their knees hoping to be cured. After that we we drove to the bagel factory. They saw how bagels are made from scratch. Of course I bought some bagels and I had a whole one and they just had a piece.
Then we drove back over the mountain. We stopped at BEAVER LAKE. We walked all around the lake. Then we sat down because they wanted to trade cards with me. We left and drove to my son’s house. As we drove I told them a story.
I had supper at my son’s. My daughter, other son and hubby came also. It was a fantastic day. This was a rare opportunity when the five of us were together. The children were busy playing so we had a chance to talk. My son’s girlfriend had a business meeting so wasn’t there.
My daughter brought me a new game for the Wii. We just did it. It’s a musical exercise one so now I’m really wiped out. I’m drinking coffee but hopefully I will still be able to sleep.
Tomorrow is a holiday here. I will work as my hubby is going to the country and it is not a holiday in the US. I am sure my daughter will sleep in.

no, no holiday here today! grandmothers are supposed to buy things for and spoil the grandchildren! girlfriends can be so picky…. don’t much care for girlfriends til they become a wife. they’re not permanent til then. take care,
