[ saving me for another day ]
And he looked in my soul
With his sighing heart in his hands
Something like an offering
And it spoke to me, whispered almost
So softly, and I couldn’t hear
And I leaned in close to him to hear his heart once more
And it jumped out at me and touched me…
Grabbed me and tucked me away in a dark corner.
Perhaps, saving me for another day
When there are no longer other instances of life
obscuring our vision.
